Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
Are we assuming that I made and error twice or are we thinking this is a glitch in the software?
Cause I'm leaning towards error in the software, not something I did, but I could be wrong ![]() ![]() I am still not convince it is a software problem. I take it that since you didn't say anything about checking the database file with Access that you do not have it. I am going to send you a private message with my email address. I have Access and would like to check the database file.

Sorry about that. I must have hit the Edit button instead of the quote button.

Yes, I'll be picking up the files tonight before their show begins. I'll get the SONGS.DB file and the ZIP file for each of you to test and review. I do have Access on my PC, so I should be able to review it as well.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
I've forwarded the files as requested and noticed one thing: Hoster said that it imported 25500 "new files" but when I open the database file, I only see 247xx files. There are about 700 files missing.
One of the missing files has been sent to Roy, but he is able to import the file. I've already deleted all the KMH files and tried reimporting the files, but they still are missing.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
Here's an update.
I've brought the PC home to work on over the night (no shows on Saturday). I've taken and tried to reduce the number of sub-folders to eliminate any issues with file names. Roy point out something that I don't know how to work around. On some of the files, when I click on the properties, it shows that the files are NOT read only, but some of the files have an extra button due to the fact that "this file came from another computer" or something like that. And the button is to correct that issue. Some of the files that are on this computer came from download websites. These are legit files, but some of them have this indication that they are from other computers. Is there a way to correct ALL the files with this indication in one swoop? Also, although Hoster indicates that it has imported 25,500 new tracks, when we look at the database, there are 700 FEWER tracks listed. There's something rotten in Denmark with regards to that. I've cleaned up as many of the files as I can and have an accurate count of 25,736 total files. When I clicked to index the HDD it said that I was about to import 25,736 files. Now I know I will have to go back and adjust the import settings for some of the files that have odd names, like CBE437-01-01 where the manufacturer has a disk number and a series of that disk number and then the tracks. After I'm done with that, I'm hoping to have 25,736 NEW files imported. If that is so, I will check the database to see how many is there, if it is less, I'll report that and then we've got a different issue. If there's anything else I should be doing, now is the time to let me know while I have the PC in my possession. Thanks again.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
Is there a way to "BLANKET" correct the DRM? I thought DRM was associated with audio files, especially wma and wav files, but not associated with mp3.
Karaokeversion.com produces their own tracks with their own words on the screen... as far as karaokedownloads.com, I don't know. So, I come back to these files. Here is what the file says when I click on Properties: Attributes: Read Only (unchecked) Hidden (unchecked) [Advanced] Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer [Unblock] There are a LOT of these files and I tried to select a large group of them, however when I click on the properties, the "security" issue doesn't show up, thereby I don't have a way to universally unblock these assuming this is an issue. I will verify this as the software finishes importing tracks. Right now I'm up to about 6000 of the total (it's a slow process!). But I'd like to be exploring options in the interim. And for the record, the file that I sent to Roy, did not have this security block on it!

Probably a bit late now but what I would have done in your case would be to try and put a few of these files in a separate folder without their kmh files, then try importing them from the build data base option, just by adding the containing folder with the zip type highlighted. Then just try the search feature with just those files before commencing with the rest. Then if there is a problem with any of those then try again with some that you unblocked.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
yes, a little late, I'm up to 17,000 now, but if it fails to import the number of files that windows declares, I'll have to start somewhere else...

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
I don't know if this is important, but I'm up to 22k songs imported (allegedly) and the book ID number is at 1,769,355 and counting... Is this supposed to be that high?

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
Here is my semi-final report.
The first round of importing files is complete. These are all the standard files that are in the following format: XXX-XX - XXXXXX - XXXXXX.zip The software reports that there are 24,256 NEW FILES When the software finished importing, however, it stated as follows: Batch Import Complete Total Files Imported: 16 (WHAT?!) I have taken the Song.db to my computer and open it up and find the following total files: 23,499 That's missing 757 files. I have an additional 1,480 files in the following format to import: XXX-XX-X - XXXXXXXX - XXXXXXXX.zip There is an import error log that contains "3" files ONLY 3. I do not know what else to do. It isn't just this file or that file type, it is missing files. I would challenge someone else to use Windows Explorer to count how many zip files they have, then open their songs database and see how many are reported and see if this ISN'T just me... but to make it even, it has to be a fresh install of the current version 502.07.

Check the security for each folder and make sure that you have at least rights to modify the folders and files inside them. I am sure when you set this computer up for them that you did the Windows 7 required changes. However if you have upgraded this computer with updates from Microsoft try going through that check list again. Sometimes those updates will change those settings. Here is a link: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/windows7-changes.htm I agree with Roy, it might be better to figure out a few of the missing DiskIDs and what folders they are in, Copy those files minus the KMH files to a new folder, rename the Songs.mdb and Songs_Backup.mdb files to something else, then try importing just those to see what happens. Then we can see if we can figure out what is wrong that is preventing them from being imported.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
Before I begin, I'm going to admit that I'm frustrated.
I've got an alternative way of figuring out if it is the files or if it is the version. I have a version of 4.11 from an installation with one key not used. I'm installing it on the PC and doing a scan of the files. If I get all the files during this scan, we're going to have to come to an agreement that it isn't the files, but it IS the software. I'm sorry to be banging that drum, but the files imported fine on Roy's PC and I'm missing just over 700 random files. The key is RANDOM. it isn't the files with the security warning, it is just random. I deleted the songs database and the backup, yes, I knew this, but thanks for reminding me. The software just seems to be doing strange things. Yes, I did the windows 7 installation sheet. In fact, I printed it out and went down item by item, even the just in case stuff. I'm really frustrated. If I get all the files in version 4.11, I'll see if they will port over to 502.07, maybe. Depends on how late it is as I have to have this PC back by 12:00 PM tomorrow for the Sunday show and if I get ALL the files in, I'm going to be thinking that it isn't the files, but it is the software and I'll wait for you gurus to figure it out in the beta forum and wait for an upgrade that states it is fixed.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
What I think you should do to remove all records from the system is from the "Build songs database" dialog Highlight all the folders showing that are in the list then press the "Exclude Folders" button. After doing this press the "Build Database "button that will build a zero count songs .mbd.
Next press the "Excluded folders " button at the top of the dialog and remove all the files that you removed earlier except the Recycle.Bin,C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\Windows. or any others that you know don't have music in. This will then allow those files to be indexed again but they may still have their .KMH headers with them that may be corrupted so delete these.kmh headers. Now it will be like starting from scratch. Regarding your book id # I did point this out earlier from the file you sent me, it does seem very high, in theory 25,500 songs imported as only 15 songs to an ID would only give you an id of 163399. So something strange is happening there. It may be that it is counting on top of your existing ID # with the new imports that is why it needs all existing data removed from the system if you don't remove the existing .kmh files it will keep using those book id's as it is in the headers. A lot of problems like this occur by deleting files Via Windows Explorer instead of using the Edit Dialog in Hoster but removing the folders from the build database option it should tell you xxx amount of files removed.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
I don't know how to make it any clearer.
I have deleted the Songs database, I've reinstalled the software, when I uninstalled, I deleted the MTU folder. I tried rebuilding the database. The ONE song that I know isn't in the database SHOWS UP IN THE REBUILD SECTION, but does not show up in the data base or in the search. This is NOT file related. This has something to do with the software. That is what I'm saying. If I don't have a solution in 2 hours, I'm going to have to recommend a refund request and another piece of software. Need I remind you that these files WORK in Hoster if I grab them, they work on your system and they work in another piece of software? There is another post here where the poster ALSO claims missing files, I don't know if it is the same issue or something different, but I need a solution, ASAP. Also, the rebuild "THIS TIME" reproduced an additional 19 files, up from 24929 to 24948. Tell me that isn't weird.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search
I've found the problem, now I need a solution and we HAVE to say that it is the software.
I checked on of the other songs that isn't showing up and I opened the KMH file. The KMH file has the same BOOKID and I know that they can't have the same book ID. Both have the following book ID: 176947901 Now what?
