LuanaR,

And learn from my bad experience by reading the product introduction to understand what you are asking a little better!

I purchased one of these adapter cables ( VGA to RCA or S-Video ) locally ( 60 miles away ) a few years ago for my vga only laptop. When I found out my laptops video card didn't support the tv out from vga capability, I didn't return it, because it wasn't worth a special trip to get a refund of $14.95 + tax. I eventually found this website ( monoprice.com ) and have ordered their converter, and find it's size and ease of use, to be very good, and at about a third of the price of the Radio Shack Gigaware version that I had to return, after a couple of fruitless hours trying to make it work, and since it was a resealed box (only one left), I couldn't try another one to see if I had a broken unit, or was just not following it's sparse and unclear instructions to make it perform!

So your question here might save you the time and expense, of trying a cable adapter, instead of a converter, if your laptop's video card will not support the tv out, through the vga connection...
An adapter is NOT a converter and very rarely does a vga output support TV out. Vga is a different signal that MUST be converted to a TV signal.

That's up to the video card she has... and true, not a lot of stock video cards will support tv out from vga, without conversion... just trying to show her where to look, and what features to look for in her computer purchases... hdmi is our next challenge with all the hd tv's... price a lengthy hdmi cable and you'll find out that maybe the vga to rca or s-video converter is not a bad way to go... and the necessity of the converter is not that pricey, or inconvenient compared to running 50 ft. of hdmi cable! Then there is the picture quality issue... do you need hd quality for just lyrics doing Karaoke? Or are we talking about the video quality and resources that will be required, when running all the features that are upcoming in the next generation of Karaoke?

Hi,
Wow. Again I am not sure where to start. Video is Mobile Intel(R)945
express chipset family.
I connect the vga to computer and converter vga out I also connect the svideo or(and) rca from converter to rf adapter and connect the coaxal from rf to tv. I live very rural so If I can find what I am looking for may be a trip of over 3hr drive. I have already purchased vga to tv converter and rf adapters and I can not seem to get them working. I am confused and don't know where to go from here.
Thank You
