GOOD NEWS! I hope our place in San Mateo is okay, we'll see next weekend, I'm sure it's allright.

A question for you about your problem not seeing Hoster, have you changed your screen resolution recently or worked with your video card?

Jim

Here in Valdosta GA the skies are dark and restless. No rain yet today so I think it's the calm before the storm. We'll see!

Right now you have to use the Video button to load a video into the playlist. In the future we will import our videos into Hoster so videos will be in the database and show up in the seach window. They will be HDVID files. By importing our videos, they will show up in our songbooks as well.

The only karaoke video I have was made from a Sound Choice disc with Media Clog on it. It wouldn't import so I video taped it and converted it to a wmv file. Some folks used lasar discs that they have converted to a video format.

It's all good stuff.

I hope this helps.

Hannahsauce, I am extremely pleased to read that 4.03 solved your problem.

Vista, and Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer running under Vista is THE WORST mess we have every tried to create our products under. We are capable of turning out quality software, and everyone who has been using MTU products very long knows we DESIRE to turn out the BEST. For 11 months, we have pulled our hair out trying to make the lyrics work in sync, and the Singer's Display (now Show Display with 4 views) and the Preview Display in the Hoster main screen also be in sync. This has been just too much for Vista to deal with. Microsoft has.... truly... gone backwards with Vista. We have been Microsoft customers since 1978 so we have been with them for 3 decades. Backwards....

Again... Hannahsauce, I am extremely pleased to read that 4.03 solved your problem.

Jim,

Wouldn't be nice that we would not have to worry about SC MediaCloq protection? I have at least 5 or 6 disks like that....

Vic,
If you have a video camera, a good video editing program and a way to hook your camera to your computer (I use a firewire connection), you can tape them off of your CD+G player then feed them into your video editing program and render them as wmv files. Worked for me!

VCD (Video CD). Karaoke tracks with a video behind it - usually a cheesy video whose plot may or may not have anything to do with the song premis. Just like the old laser karaoke disk except it's on a standard cdrom that your computer can read. They are far more popular in Asia and Europe than here in the US.
The best ones in my opinion is the Original Footage brand that uses live footage and music videos from the 60's and 70's performing the songs with the karaoke in nearly perfect sync to the artist performing it. They only made about a dozen disks with about 12 songs each.
United Artist Video is another good brand, they put out about 30 disks. Most everything else is hit or miss in my opinion. They are usually multiplexed so you can turn the vocals on or off.
Acekaraoke sells them as well as a number of others.
You can get them on DVD too but those require special ripping software and some work to get them to your hardrive. VCD are as easy as open the disk and drag and drop.
VCD's will also play in many karaoke players (JVC, RSQ) as well as many DVD players.

Sam

with this new hoster version, would you be able to see video on your main and viewers screen? not like the old one , video only shows up in the viewer screen, and also do you still have to play the kma file first and drag it to the viewers in order to see the video ?

Preview screen is not showing videos yet as Jim said.
You do not have to setup the video screen as before though. That is all part of the Show Display, so it has been incorporated to show where ever the Show Display is set.
