Rawr!!!

Ok here's my problem.... I just uninstalled and reinstalled hoster 4.2 again. When I launch it, it's nowhere to be found. It's in the task manager as being there... but no hoster... or sometimes it will take 20 mins to an hour to show. What is this ?? How do I fix this? 3.4 works fine.. but the whole point of me upgrading to 4.2 is for the bells and whistles... I've got everything upgraded and up to par.. enough RAM windowsmedia 11, SP3 blah blah.. please help me!:?:?

ddouglass August 18th, 2008 04:09 PM

Did you reboot after re-installing?
Does it show on the task bar at the bottom or the Applications area of task manager. If not is it showing in the processes of Task Manager?

Hey Hannah,
Let me start with some questions so we know which way to go.

1. Have you defraged your hard drive?

2. Have you checked your hard drive for errors?

If not, do so and restart your computer. This may fix your problem.

If you answered yes to both of these questions:

1. You have all CUSTOM windows updates?

Waiting for your answers.

Beavis, Why is your answer always 'wait until next release comes out' I installed same version as Hannasause did and mine isn't 'nowhere to be found'. She has a legit problem. As a VIP you should help her.

We are all waiting for Hannah's response. :r :w :)

Sorry I haven't replied before this... we have Tropical Storm Fay on our minds right now. I'm gonna defrag this afternoon and see if that solves anything.. I appreciate the responses... I'll revert to 3.4 'til then. I will let you know what happens after defrag. :c

JNS02 August 19th, 2008 01:47 PM

Just wondering, You used the same answer for 4.0, 4.01 and 4.02. I am using 4.02 right now and she isn't. All she really wants is answers as to why some can use it and others can't. Said my piece, I'm done.

Read her post again. She is using 4.02 and her problem is after re-installing it doesn't open where she can use it.
There is no one answer as to why one can use it and another can't. If everyone was using the same computer with exactly the same things installed then maybe all would have the same problems, but I doubt it. Computers just aren't that simple and Microsoft doesn't make things any easier by having so many variations of the operating systems available.
And as Beavis said 4.03 will be out soon with a major change back to the previous code for displaying the Lyrics that should clear up a lot of the problems people are having.

We should have realized that since your location is Florida. Batten down the hatches Hannah!! :e

Take care...Hopefully this one isn't that bad. I hear that TS Fay is intensifying overland. All other things can wait. Ride this one out Hannah...

hannahsauce August 19th, 2008 03:44 PM

Well, right now Fay is closing in on our particular town of Okeechobee... and the Lake. It's coming fast and strong, half of the county is out of power. Here at the house we are getting alot of brown outs... nothing severe yet.. but the way the storm is intensifying.. we may be out of power soon. We are lucky here that we have the hurricane windows YAY! But it looks bad outside, there are trees and powerlines and stuff everywhere! I will keep you updated!:e

Batten down the hatches, the weather channel said wind gusts around the lake were over 80 mph. Storm warnings all the way up to my old stomping grounds at Flagler Beach.http://forum.mtu.com/images/icons/icon4.gif

I was just there Sunday. We go to Flagler Beach every weekend we're in San Mateo, it's our home beach. I love the drive along the ocean shore, you can't get that anywhere but Flagler. Let's pray the storm doesn't take anymore of the beach!

I'm in Okeechobee right above the Lake. It's 8:30 pm and this storm is still hovering over us, BIG wind gusts, dog's freakin out.. son is bored. Still have power though! Maybe I'll hop in bed and eat some crackers and Vienna sausages and watch some Tele. Nothin' good on tonight!

Ok. I pulled my head out of my hole and see that the storm is coming from the west. Flagler Beach is safe.
