Please make sure your internet connection is up and running
before continuing.

If you would like to exit now, press 'Cancel'

Are you using Norton Security by chance? Or perhaps McAfee? If so, try disabling them just long enough to try again and see if that makes it work. What type of internet connection are you using? Dial-up, dsl, cable modem, etc... This may sound totally out of whack to you, but if you open internet explorer and go to the tools menu and select Internet Options, then click on the Delete button under browsing history, then click on Delete All, then select the box that says Also Delete Files and settings... and answer Yes.

This will clear out your cache and could possibly help with your issue.

Hope this helps, like I said it may sound silly but I have seen this clear up a lot of problems with internet connectivity.

Safe Mode

If none of the suggestions work for you, then re-boot your machine in the “safe mode with networking” and try again…This mode bypasses your virus settings. Once the program loads, reboot in the normal mode.

I want to take this time to thank you guys (especially Dale & MadJim) for taking the time to help me through my problem. You guys are right on!

The problem was Norton's firewall and not Microsoft's firewall!

Thanks again everyone!!!!! Life is good again!
