I know you weren't talking to me but I do not have Vista. I have an absolutely clean fresh install of XP with all custom updates. I removed all "extras" that Microsoft thinks I need such as messenger etc.... The only progams I have installed are Firefox and OpenOffice, neither of wich have a TSR running in the background. I have tried updated/backdated/opensource drivers. I only posted this to see if someone else had the same problem to see if they got it fixed. I am not one bit upset with MTU. I know they will figure it out. If they don't, I will. I will post back here when I figure it out, or check back to see if anyone beat me to it.

Hah! Beat ya! The display setting was @ 1024x768 32 bit color. This is what I have always used in previous versions. The redraw/lag is gone if I set the display to 800x600 32 bit color OR 1024x768 16 bit color. I never had problems with the display setting before. Even though I moved the singers display off to a tv, the DJ preview display was still causing the lag. When I detached it and moved it to the TV, the lag disappeared. It gave me a clue as to where to proceed. The only problem is, I can't resize the DJ view to fit on the desktop in 800x600 without full screen. It useable at full screen as long as you don't need quick access to anything on the right side of the screen. I will just use 16 bit color in 1024x768 in my particular situation. I really only need 8 bit color anyway. Hope this helps somebody.

By DJ view I am assuming you are talking about the preview that is normally in the upper left corner of the Hoster main window. Anyway, I was having to same sync problem on my home computer that I use to beta test with and no matter what I did it would not sync. My show machine did not have this problem. The current beta for 4.02 that we have been testing fixed this, so they are on the right track.
I never thought about trying a different resolution for the screen.
It really doesn't matter how many programs you have installed on your computer, but how many background processes you let run while you are using Hoster. I turn off or prevent from starting on boot up many of the programs that try, such as Real Player, Quicktime, Office, Roxio, etc. Seems they all try to start small background controls just so they can open their programs a little faster if you call on them. These are not necessary and don't really speed up their operation any noticable difference.

That's what I was saying about TSRs (terminate and stay resident). I have a lean and mean software setup on my show computers. There are no processes running that are not absolutely necessary. It is definitely a conflict with the explorer/video driver/Hoster combo. Maybe that will help pin it down.

Sorry, I forgot to post back. The problem I was having was with IE7 and the video card combo. Everything seems to be fine if I step back to IE6 and use this card. I can also lower the resolution and use IE7. Third option is to Upgrade video card and use IE7 at full resolution. All of these solutions produced good results. I am going with your option since I have the video card available anyways.

Truly excellent feedback here! I thank Marklwood and OneEscalara for this.

Dale and all our honored Beta Testers and MTU staff also have overlooked the Resolution and Color depth solution. We should know better as in the past the 32-bit color caused problems with other products.

We'll have to experiment with this today.

Please read my latest update.
