Lyrics not in sync
Is anyone still having a lyrics sync issue? I am just playing with this at home and giving a good scouring to my song lists using the new "hide in songbook" feature. In the edit songs screen, there is a pause when drawing the graphics. Then it redraws the graphics and it it that much out of sync(usually about 10 seconds). In the regular host screen, it is not as pronounced but still there(about 4 seconds). I have all custom updates for Windows and My hardware.
I have a 2.2 Intel Core 2 Duo w/3 gb ram ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro No programs installed except Hoster, Firefox, and Open Office. Nothing unnecessary running in the background. I was going to try an open source driver and see if that would make a difference. But first, I will hook it to a TV to see if that changes anything. Then change out the display adapter if all else fails. I feel like it has got to be the video card and or driver if it is not a known Hoster issue. |
words out of sinc. too!
I am having the same problem with mine. I just put hoster 4.1 in on a new laptop with the same specs as yours. In the manual under display they show you a way to change some driver around, and it works! but then started up after a couple songs later. whats goin on?

In the proccess of making Hoster 4.XX do all of the things that we (the customers) want it to do MTU had do some major rewriting of the program code. On top of this, Vista has been a real pain in the butt to work with. I don't run alot of different file formats or videos and Hoster 4.XX has always done a great job running my shows for weeks now (XP). :r :w :c
MTU is working hard to address these issues and I assure you they will get it. MTU uses all of the lateset updates to assure tha Hoster runs as smooth as possible so get all of the recommened updates and see that your sytem is a clean as possible. This keeps Hoster running well. Hang in there, these guys are busting a__ to get 4.XX running without a hitch. They'll get it. Jim :g |
what piece of crap, i guess i will have to go back to an older version untill they figure it out....Grrr

Sorry i sound grumpy, But my tower i`v used for 3 years with no problem got stollen last week and i am going laptop now with the new hoster and some external sound blaster X-fi surround 5.1 card thats USB thats making my music KMA or MP3 sound like there is a flanger effect on! and for some reason took the vocals out of my mp3 songs for my D.J part. using the internal s.card which is a good HD card makes a hum out of the headphone jack, and the lyrics fall behind in hoster...Its bin a stressfull week...

As far as the external USB Soundblaster it sounds like you have set or some of the default settings in the EAX control software is causing this. Turn off all the effects set in this control and that should fix your sound through there. I am guessing the new laptop is Vista? If so then yes you will have sync problems with the current release. However you have the option of using the 3.4 version that is included with 4.1 (file is in the Program Files\Hoster folder as Hoster34.exe) until the next free release comes out that will work with Vista. I will tell you again that if you do not keep your computers up to date with Microsoft's Custom updates and this includes Internet Explorer 7 and Service Pack 3 (XP) or Service Pack 1 (Vista), then don't expect the MTU software to work correctly. |

By DJ view I am assuming you are talking about the preview that is normally in the upper left corner of the Hoster main window. Anyway, I was having to same sync problem on my home computer that I use to beta test with and no matter what I did it would not sync. My show machine did not have this problem. The current beta for 4.02 that we have been testing fixed this, so they are on the right track.
I never thought about trying a different resolution for the screen. It really doesn't matter how many programs you have installed on your computer, but how many background processes you let run while you are using Hoster. I turn off or prevent from starting on boot up many of the programs that try, such as Real Player, Quicktime, Office, Roxio, etc. Seems they all try to start small background controls just so they can open their programs a little faster if you call on them. These are not necessary and don't really speed up their operation any noticable difference. |

Truly excellent feedback here! I thank Marklwood and OneEscalara for this.
Dale and all our honored Beta Testers and MTU staff also have overlooked the Resolution and Color depth solution. We should know better as in the past the 32-bit color caused problems with other products. :r We'll have to experiment with this today. :c Please read my latest update. |
Glad to see this! Until the last couple versions I have always used 800x600 32 bit. Lot easier to see the screen for some of us "older" folk. With the 4.0 series, the 800x600 is too big to see all the screen like we used too. So, I "unwantingly" have switched to 1024x768 but I forgot to set it back to 16 bit.
