I'll be looking for your post as to what happens when you do CUSTOM update of Windows. Quote:

Since some others don't experience it, the strong indication is there is some system dependency is at play here. 512MB RAM today, with all the Windows Updates that continually are downloaded and installed, could explain the problem. The fact you have had a problem with this for 2 years is painful to hear. I thought everything was smooth with this CDG import. ![]() Is it possible to upgrade your RAM to 1GB? |

Well I've done the custom updates and I believe that did the trick. thank you, thank you , thank you
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, but I have continued to try to do the defragging before I gave this test a try and it just runs forever at the present time it has been running for 15 hours. I have cancelled and tried again several times any idea why this is happening or am I not patient enough. I did the test anyway and it seems to be working fine!!! Thanks again for all your help, Stu (looking forward to 4.0). |

How much free space (percentage) does the defrag program show on your drive when you analyze it?
The minimum recommended is 25% of the drive. This allows Windows to have enough room for temporary files and operating room. Defrag does not do well and takes extreme amounts of time if there isn't more than 25% free space for it to move files segments around to get the fragmentation out. Defrag will also be very slow if the amount of fragmentation is excessive. I have run Defrag for as long as 24 hrs for it to get done (not my computers....at work ![]()

I don't know if anyone is still reading this post, but I'm having this problem again. I am constantly doing all the updates and defrags and I'm still having sporatic problems loading customers cdg's on my vista machines with 3.321.
Sometimes Hoster crashes and sometimes the lyrics and music get out of sync. I never had this problem with any previous version of Hoster. So I don't think it can be blamed on updates or cd/dvd players. I suppose it can be blamed on vista, but I think there is a problem that still needs some attention. If there is a solution that I'm not aware please advise! |

Temp Solution to CDG Import Problem
Temp Solution to CDG Import Problem
Run your show from Hoster #1 and play singers Disc from Hoster #2 It Works with no problems or Sound Dropout.. 2) Reposition Hoster window #1 to upper right corner 3) If you are Not in extended monitor mode you will need to resize lyric window. 4) Start Hoster Program #2 and minimize it. 5) Reposition Hoster Window #2 to lower left corner. 6) Go to file and click on new to create a new play list, now click on file then SaveAs and Name it Singer Disc then click on the save window you’re ready. 7) Now when you get a singers Disc import it from Hoster #2 and it will not affect Hoster #1 even while running your show from Hoster #1 window. |
