Weddings and special functions, my starting price is $250.00. I use the wedding/special function price for one nighters and holidays. However, as stated above, if a holiday falls on a night I am already schedules, no, I have not charged more for that night.
I am only charging $250.00 for one nighters, while DJ's are charging $500.00 and up. Go figure. p.s. I am also a veteran musician, so I use the experience of that to help gauge my prices. Some of the local KJ's have descretely agreed not to start and undercutting/price war here. So, that has helped.
below were only my karaoke show rates.

The DJ rates are about the same for clubs and parties, but my wedding DJ'ing starts at 450, am I am the lowest by at least a 100 dollars around here, although my karaoke rates are the highest around here, because i don't really want to work every day, and actually quit three nights a week last summer, then raised my rates some more and am still working 5 nights a week (like i had said, all within a mile from home, keep equip. there, and at one place i use there's).
