Did you do a "Custom" update or the "Express" update?
Also, you didn't list what type of burner you have and is it's firmware up to date?

Your burner is made by LG but niether they or Gateway show any firmware updates. However Dell, who uses the same drive does have one at the below address.

For your Windows updates you need to go back and do a "Custom" update. You will be surprised how many updates are missed, because Microsoft only downloads and installs the "Critical" updates under the Express update.

Herbyb, Dale is right about your needing to select "Custom" versus "Express" for updating Windows. I truly wish we didn't have to go through all this.

We have thousands of users working fine with Microstudio, so I'm very, very interested to find out why you aren't.

Please... post back here after doing your Updates to let us know if that is the problem.

Thank you so very much for even taking the time to post your problem. I realize you could have just said the heck with it, and we'd never know if there is a problem or not.

Sincerely,

David Cox

I got every update I could. I was able to upload an audio cd and play it back. I was unable to get a cd+g to work. I imported the files, put them in the play list(just like the audio cd) when i tried to play them, their time changed from 1:30 to 0:05 and counted down without playing.

It may be that your LG drive may not be able to read the CDG correctly even though it may be listed as capable. Not every drive will work with CDG format. Did you install the firmware update I found?
