I haven't seen any threads at Microsoft. I am communicating directly with one of their engineers.

Let me rephrase the use of the word threads originally was a mistake. I found a couple of items in the KB at Microsoft. As far as this instance I have been emailing back and forth with an engineer at Microsoft. I am waiting to hear back from them hopefully today. I will share on this thread if I find something useful.

Ok,
We are making some progress today, just still not able to install yet. We are finding it to be deep in our .dll file that Microsoft changed some call, that we were using, so far this is what it looks like. Problem is figuring out which one and how to fix it. It was working fine, last week and no longer is this week, so something in Vista changed on the prebuilt computers. As stated above, I have tested and it still works fine under my Vista Ultimate and Vista Home Basic installs, that I installed myself. It will not work on the laptops we get from a laptop manufacturer, these are where the problem comes from this week.

I have been doing quite a bit of research on Microsoft's forums and I keep seeing a recurring question in regards to running an executable/program. This is to right click on file and go to properties. run the program in a Windows XP(SP2) compatability mode and run the program as an administrator. I know some have tried the first but has anyone tried the second? I don't have Vista so am not exactly sure where you find this control, so if someone else could post specific directions that would help.
It appears Microsoft has decided to restrict even "administrators" to running as a normal user unless administrator rights are needed and then you have to set that.
