No. The play function in Microstudio is not for running shows like Hoster does. It is simplified to show the same folder you import into so you can play the imported files to verify they are good. It is a QC function, not for running a show.

In Product Development, there is a Golden Rule:

"Flexibility is the Bane of Ease of use."

In other words, the more features you have, the harder the product is to use.

Microstudio is not designed for professionals to run shows with. We intentionally did not bring the Tools menu Default Folder command to a button on any of the screens to discourage changing it, and to hide it completely from the majority of customers who don't want to even know they can change the folder.

In all developments, there are "tradeoffs" that some will love, and others will not. We are aware this is one of those cases. If enough people complain about it, we'll consider a way to provide it.

However, saying it again... Microstudio is NOT designed for running complex shows from multiple folders. Hoster and Hoster Lite are designed for that. Hoster and Microstudio have complementary, not overlapping features.
