Microstudio 3.00 Multiple folders

hi there is there anyway to set microstudio to look in multiple folders for my kma files like hoster does
i have a prostar computer from MTU which has 2 seperate 60gb hard drives on it which is where i keep all my files
half on the C drive and the other half on the D drive
is there anyway to set microstudio to look in both of these folders at the same time like Hoster does

No. The play function in Microstudio is not for running shows like Hoster does. It is simplified to show the same folder you import into so you can play the imported files to verify they are good. It is a QC function, not for running a show.

In Product Development, there is a Golden Rule:

"Flexibility is the Bane of Ease of use."

In other words, the more features you have, the harder the product is to use.

Microstudio is not designed for professionals to run shows with. We intentionally did not bring the Tools menu Default Folder command to a button on any of the screens to discourage changing it, and to hide it completely from the majority of customers who don't want to even know they can change the folder.

In all developments, there are "tradeoffs" that some will love, and others will not. We are aware this is one of those cases. If enough people complain about it, we'll consider a way to provide it.

However, saying it again... Microstudio is NOT designed for running complex shows from multiple folders. Hoster and Hoster Lite are designed for that. Hoster and Microstudio have complementary, not overlapping features.

KMA files

Is it a problem to run your KMA files off an external Hard Drive? Everytime you change screeens or close Microstudio and re open it, it acts like it has to rebuild its database again and takes several minutes. Also not all of my KMA files are showing up.

It really isn't a good idea to use your Hoster songs folder as your default folder as most of us have from 5 - 10 thousand song files and it takes a while for MS to read all those headers.:e

As Admin says this program is not designed to use for KJ shows.

??

I'm not using it for shows. I just have them all on an external drive.I'm just trying to creat a cd from multiple songs from my KMA files. Is there another way to get them into MS?

Set up a default folder on the internal drive, copy the song files you want for the cd to that folder, then open MS and the files will be listed much faster. (Be sure Karaoke Files is the button pushed at the top or you won't see them).

Files

Once they have downloaded MS doesn't keep just a database of the KMA's so it has it the next time it needs to be accessed like Hoster does? Seem's in the future it would save a lot of time . Other than that it seems to work great! Thanks!

That would mean MS would have to keep a database of every folder you set as the default folder and that could get to be very large if you use it for all the things it is capable of doing. Not to mention that it wouldn't see and additions or changes you have made to the contents of that folder.
