I have four of them (Plextor drives)

I have a Lite-on CDRW, a Lite-on DVDRW and a Plextor 740 DVDRW
and they all work with hoster. The plextor 740 works but it is not listed on MTU site as an approved drive, but I believe I read somewhere in the forum that it is made by another manufacturer for plextor (Benq I think it was)

so I am waiting to see if the next version of Hoster has these issues solved

but thanks for your reply
I have two Plextors 712A and a 716A and I am not having any proplems with them.

plex drives

Hey Larry

Yeah I have heard no one say they have had a problem with the 712's and 716's. I have two of the 712's they are in another desktop here at home that I use for DVD projects. But that is not the desktop that has the second copy of Hoster on it. It has all my DVD software installed on it. So to do a switch with the 712's would just be too much of a hassle if ya know what I mean!!

I have the Plextor 740 and two Lite-on's working for now. But I bought all four of the other Plextors expressly to do CDG with Hoster and Microstudio and other software. They are the drives that perform hardware functions and not software copying functions so I would much rather use them.

Mediacloq

I have not tried any of the Mediacloq'd CDG's with the 740. I will give it a try. I have used the 712 to make a copy of the Mediacloq'd disc first with Audiograbber and Microstudio but it has been hit & miss with the ripping.

Be patient, Mike, MTU is working on the CD Drive problem with their vendor. Read the News Page and they explain it.
