Video Hoster 3.311

In the news section of MTU - New Products & Upgrades - it says that version 3.311 of Hoster is out now and that several nasty bugs have been fixed. But when I left click on the Video Hoster 3.311 link there it takes me to the info for v3.310. Has the new version been released ??? I have been hoping that the next version release will fix the problems with some of the Plextor drives.

I don't believe they have released it yet. Please be patient........

The problem I WAS HAVING is every time I tried to import a disk with my
PLEXTOR CD-R PREMIUM the computer would freeze and I had to reboot.

I removed the Plextor and installed another drive "DVDrom DVD - HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4160B"

When I did this Hoster 3.310 worked great.

Next I went to Plexter’s web site http://www.plextor.com and downloaded
An update of FIRMWARE for my Plextor cd-rom.

Now Hoster 3.310 works great on my computer with the plextor installed.

thanks Jacqui

but my plextor drives all have the latest version of firmware from plextor website .....they still don't function w/Hoster 3.310

I have four of them (Plextor drives)

I have a Lite-on CDRW, a Lite-on DVDRW and a Plextor 740 DVDRW
and they all work with hoster. The plextor 740 works but it is not listed on MTU site as an approved drive, but I believe I read somewhere in the forum that it is made by another manufacturer for plextor (Benq I think it was)

so I am waiting to see if the next version of Hoster has these issues solved

but thanks for your reply

plex drives

Hey Larry

Yeah I have heard no one say they have had a problem with the 712's and 716's. I have two of the 712's they are in another desktop here at home that I use for DVD projects. But that is not the desktop that has the second copy of Hoster on it. It has all my DVD software installed on it. So to do a switch with the 712's would just be too much of a hassle if ya know what I mean!!

I have the Plextor 740 and two Lite-on's working for now. But I bought all four of the other Plextors expressly to do CDG with Hoster and Microstudio and other software. They are the drives that perform hardware functions and not software copying functions so I would much rather use them.

a2KMIKE,

I have had success with the Plextor 740 importing soundchoice Mediaclog cd's...... do you have any to try? mine were the sc2336 a&B a lot of the sc8700 series were also. let me know. I think this is a fluke

Mediacloq

I have not tried any of the Mediacloq'd CDG's with the 740. I will give it a try. I have used the 712 to make a copy of the Mediacloq'd disc first with Audiograbber and Microstudio but it has been hit & miss with the ripping.

Be patient, Mike, MTU is working on the CD Drive problem with their vendor. Read the News Page and they explain it.:)

3.311 is now released, but our webmaster must update all the past user's download links. He is on it and it should be done any moment now. Then, your existing 3.303 or 3.310 download link, if it is still active, will download 3.311. :w

We start on 3.312 tomorrow that should fix the problem with Plextor and other drives. We expect this to release in October, which is why we went ahead and released these bug fixes in 3.311 so users don't have to suffer with them.
