Don't expect to have a sharp picture on the tv, it only has to display graphics, and will look fine. If you do get the dual display, you will have the desktop icons on one display, and only a blank desktop on the second (tv) display. This indicates that the display is working and all is fine.

It works I did what you said and went into my laptop properties and clicked on the 2nd display computer screen. Initially I had to update my ATI drivers from the ATI website cause I was only showing one display in the properties but now I am hooked up BTW the screen is so clear on my TV its like I have a second computer monitor I can even watch DVD's
