Re: Does things differently??
I am sure that the hoster loaded on this computer (5.08) has a problem. I want to try a few things on the other computers and maybe my problems are unrelated.

Re: Does things differently??
in 5.08 the data folder is in a different location than the later versions, I think it changed from about 5.09 to follow New Microsoft guidelines. So if your swapping from earlier versions to later versions there could be problems there making it look in different locations for files.

Re: Does things differently??
Okay I still don't know what the problem is on this computer 5.08
The computer I use to use as a home work computer had hoster 4.3 loaded. The new home work computer is hoster 5.10 There is a change on the old computer all you had to do was exclude folders and add folders and you would have what you want. On 5.10 I did what you suggested not only exclude all the folders but run to get it empty and that fixed my problem on 5.10 A bit of a pain but I can work around that. As for the computer with 5.08 I'm not using this computer as a show computer right now, if there is a solution that does not include an upgrade I will try it. I may do an upgrade at a later date. |

Re: Does things differently??
The trouble is not all versions are backward compatible with one another.
A number of different things get added to the database, sometimes it's extra fields data, in some cases it can be just where people requested different genre to be added. All this extra data is stored in the kma headers. If you added one of the extra genre then that is stored in the kma file then when you run those files through an earlier version that wasn't listed in the earlier versions that can cause problems but most of the problems occur when extra fields of data are added because the database of the earlier versions can't read these extra fields. If you load an early version into a later version it updates the kma header with the extra data but then that kma file wont be compatible with the earlier version anymore. Unless you kept a backup of the original.
