Music skips and sometimes Hoster crashes
I have not had a crash problem in a very long time.
A person who works for me said he had Hoster crash 3 times right after the music skipped Saturday and the music skipped a lot without crashing. I have been testing this computer for a couple hours now. I do get music skips but so far it has not crashed. I have a new Dell Computer with Windows 8 and Hoster 5.08. It has touch screen technology (if that makes a difference). I am laboring to figure how to do most things on this computer. So if there are changes that need to be made, I may need instruction on how to do them. There are number of operations that are very easy on XP and even Windows 7 that I still don't how to do on Windows 8. It may be helpful if I were a tech type of person but I'm stumped and don't know what to do next. ![]() Thank you ahead of time for any help that I can get. |

Re: Music skips and sometimes Hoster crashes
My output jack doesnt allow me to use hoster at all, so I use the audio from an hdmi converter.

Re: Music skips and sometimes Hoster crashes
USB ports only use a wireless mouse. Do want to add an external hard drive at some point

once you get into this view alternate clicks on the windows key alternates between tiled view and none tiled view. If you place the cursor in the bottom left of the screen a miniature windows eight screen appears if you right click in that area a pop up window appears with a number of selections like file explorer & Control panel, using these dialogs is much the same as windows 7 for finding your way around the settings. With your audio problem first I would suggest you set your power options to high performance, later versions of Hoster set this automatically but I think that was after 5.08. You should be able to do that by right clicking the battery icon on the task bar and choose power options then select change plan settings then change them all to never at least while it's plugged in. Then you might want to check the advanced settings where there are individual settings for hard disc and usb varius settings make sure none are set to sleep after a short time. Then the main setting in Hoster is from the tools/audio controls, the prevent audio drops setting. It is normally defaulted to 10 if you still hear audio drops raise that to a higher # 20 is the highest perhaps start there and if it improves gradually lower it till you find the best setting. Also check from the manufacturers web site if there are any updated drivers for your model especially audio and video drivers.

Hoster 5.31.01 - Music skips and OOS problems Win 7
I've installed Hoster 5.31.01 and was pleased with its operation. I played some songs and used the SEARCH function and things were great. When, I turned off the laptop an auto download of Microsoft update files began to download.
This morning I went out to my studio room to show my wife the updates and decided to sing a song. Of course, when I turned on the computer the files began to load into the system. When I tried to play a song I had played the day before, the song began to skip and hesitate. I also noticed the music and the graphics were out of sync. The only thing I did that was different from the day before was I tried to change the tempo. Next, I turned off Hoster and then tried again without changing the tempo, but I still had a messed up play back. I then restored my computer to the same condition it was in before the downloads from Microsoft; Hoster is now the way it was yesterday. There were a bunch of files downloaded including files for Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5 and 4.5.1 as well, security update for Internet Explorer 11. Of course, I don't know which download caused the problem, or even if that was the problem, but the problem is now gone. Wes
