I was talking about how you access the command to instruct your computer to repair your external hard drive. On the old XP you had to enter a command prompt from the Start/Run, I can't remember if Vista is the same as Windows 7 that can be accessed from the drive properties.
I am not advising you to do this, I was just trying to explain one way that files can get damaged.
What you have I have had myself. I just reimported the file from the original disc to cure it. I don't know any other way to cure spotty graphics other than if you have a good copy on another drive like the person who started this thread.
