NO CRASHES...

Tonight I'll use the same setup, and will look for the audible beep at stop song early."

7-26-12: NO CRASHES at all tonight during a five hour show
With 79 songs beginning with two audio mp3's at the beginning of th show.
I also have the default audio setting of 10 changed to 20 as of the last show.
This is the third consecutive night at about 180 total singers.
7-27-12: NO CRASHES at all during a three hour show, about 40 songs..

7-28-12: NO CRASHES tonight at all during the 4-1/2. Hour show with 75 Karake songs. Recap on settings: All karaoke songs on manual, and two videos were played on auto in the middle of the show. Fade in is 3 sec. and fade out is 3 sec. Remove silence is always on and added silence is 3 sec. Before song starts and 3 sec. after song ends. Auto play delay is set to zero. Tempo is disabled by default and stays that way, never used. Hoster is only program running.

After reading back thru all my posts I can't find (or seem to recall, either) that I have ever crashed with these three second settings and that ALL of the crashes were with having the fade in and out at 2 seconds and/or the added silence at two seconds. But I am not sure if that was the case with the three or four others who had reported those same " end of song " crashes. Just a clue that I thought I'd throw in. Hope it helps?

This was the Casino I played in last week that had two crashes. This week was pretty much the same singers with similar songs sung as last week.

Anybody that previously reported crashes like I have had; "What was your fade setting at the time?". I'm really thinking this has something to do with it??

I just found a post that I had stated that I had had a crash with fade in and fade out set to zero.

From post number 61 on here:

Played a four hour gig today with my wife's shuttle xp setup from 4 to 8 o'clock. Her show ran flawless. I started another four hour gig at 8:00 using my new laptop with H5.07. I removed a windows 7 gadget (a clock) off the desktop, and set fade in and out to zero, and clicked always on top for preview screen. All that is left for extras was remove silence with 2 seconds added silence at the beginning and end of songs and mcafee running in background.

The fourth song into the show, I remembered there I remembered That I had left a usb drive I didn't need in the slot so I took it out after the song finished, it seemed like as soon as I touched it, the hoster error must close screen popped up. Although I was pretty sure the song had completely stopped, but maybe I grabbed the thing too soon. Hoping this might be another clue so wanted to mention that.

Then, three hours into the show, at the end of a song anoter completely random crash occurred. The only thing I remember doing was making a few movements and deletions/additions to the playlist during the song before.

Re: Post Hoster 5.07 Problems Here

On my machine anyway, (the New Dell laptop xps15z, i5 processor), It seems to appear that I have wittled the "end of song" crashes down to the "remove silence with less than 3 seconds may be a potential cause, which sort of relates to a previous audio problem at less than 2 seconds.

Once again, Anyone that has seen the end of song crash can you report back here and let me know what you had used for remove silence settings.

I have gone through at least 10 shows and over 500 singers with remove silence on and added silence on both ends at 3 seconds.

Roy, and anyone else, would you mind trying Remove silence with 2 seconds added silence on both ends for a couple or three shows and see what happens?

I've never used Removed Silence & still get an occasional Crash after a song ends, as I've previously reported.

Okay, thanks. I really really thought I was on to something.

Oh, wondering how "occasional" you're crashes are now??

Skybird,
Can you try the 5.08 Beta 4, it was released last night. We are still trying to figure out this crash, how much does it happen on your system? Is there any reproducable way to create it on your system?

Thank's for everyone's reporting/testing!

I don't know if I'll have the time required to test it today. When I've been doing my Shows with 5.08 Beta1 (in Manual mode), it's usually 2 hours into the Show before it decides to crash after any karaoke song stops playing.

Bryant,

The factory default for remove silence before the song starts is 2 seconds. I have had my setting at the 2 second start and 0 when songs ends. I have had no crashes at all with Beta 1, 3, or 4.

Any one running the Hoster Beta and VDJ at the same time having any issues, ...like crashes when Hoster is focused to play a karaoke track, music will play but the video doesn't and crashes the program..?

I run VDJ and Hoster together all the time and I have had "no" crashes running Hoster 5.08 Beta 2.

I play music before my show for an hour to hour and a half every show and then I keep VDJ cued up with a dance song that I play every 4-5 singers during the show.

I had another flawless night Thursday night.

I will be testing Hoster 5.08 Beta 4 Saturday night...

Not sure if I'm making any sense here but, " Can a crash such as these be computer specific as to how it responds to the remove silence and its settings for added silence?"

Bryant,

I have Remove silence set 2 second start and 2 seconds after song ends.

No crashes.

Bryant If you don't mind, you may have a background services problem that enterferes with your audio or video stream in some way, shut down services you don't need while running Hosters and this may solve this issue...

This is a very good tool to use for this purpose which I also use with good results, it's called GameBosster, try it.. you can downloaded here.. http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

I've gone thru about every background service I found that wasn't required.
Haven't tried gameBooster yet, but I will.

Also, I see that others are getting similar crashes too, but just not as often, then again, I play more often than most, i.e., approx. 500 singers a week.

Go into the Config part of the program and get alot of additional options to tweak it even more then the autorun option.

Good Luck...
