Since Laserdiscs have to rely on their own player to be able to convert them in the first place, they would need to be played in a real time format. No speeding this process up.

I imagine Pioneer would have converted these to DVD and re-released them wouldn't they?? Laser discs were so expensive and dvds are so cheap, I don't know whether I could be bothered converting them. I still have quite a large collection of laser discs (not karaoke) - many cost me over $100 You can buy the same movie on dvd today for a few bucks I guess there is the factor that they are all old hat by now - a bit like we all end up
