There is a way to create a viable restore point. Uninstall and reinstall a product. I used Vogone...took about four minutes.
The uninstall and install restore points are listed. Now if a problem crops up I can simply select the Vogone install restore point and everything will be back as it is currently without having to lose any current programs. There had to be a way.
