I'm wondering if the main display has gone to an area of the main screen (out of view) display off the screen. Try this: right click on the desk top select properties, select setting tab and try chaging the screen resolution first to maximum press apply and Ok. Now can you see a part of the main display at the edge of the screen enough to allow you to drag it into proper view, if not try again setting the resolution to minimum and see if an area appears near the edge of the screen. If not It may be that you will have to go into the registry and delete some keys to remove all the settings. See if the above helps first.
As Dale stated which version did you upgrade from ?
