VGA to RCA Converter That Works...
My RCA plug on one of my laptops broke & I really am not up to the task of taking the thing apart (or paying anyone else to). I bought a USB powered VGA to TV converter a couple of years ago & it didn't work no matter what I tried. Does anyone use one that does?
I see a lot of new laptops are being equiped with HDMI out instead of S Video. Since most of the Club Tvs are not going to be HDMI. It looks like we need a workable VGA solution. It would be really nice if there were a USB Video Card available, but I can't seem to find one. The ones that look like what I would want are actually recognised as 'input devices'....Wayne |

Have any of your laptops computers got vga out ?
If so you can get vga to RCA or S-video converters. Then you don't use up a usb slot. Roy. |

Wayne I would look for one that uses a wall plug instead of USB. USB powered items take power from the laptop and that means less available power for the laptop itself.

To Clarify
Yes, ALL of my laptops have a VGA. My question & maybe it is a stupid one is;
Does anyone know of a Make/Brand/Model of VGA to RCA (or S Video) converter that actually works. I bought one previously & it doesn't work. I have tried it with multiple machines....Wayne |

go to www.eitech.com get a maxview pc to tv converter, this one has a vga in to rca/s-video out..connect the vga from your laptop to the vga in of the maxview converter and you can use either the rca or the s-video out. and this one has a power cable so you don't need to use you usb port, i used to used this and it works..you can even use both the rca and the s-video if you want to use 2 tv/lcd singers screen. theres also a product called viewport, i had one just can't find it right now i think this one has vga and hdmi on it.

Thanks, I will check out that brand, but I don't think your link is correct. At least it doesn't look like a place to buy this product...Wayne
