Test it with Microstudio Dem version
Debcrew, our Microstudio demo will test your drive. Read the instructions on the demo download page at:
http://mtu.com/support/demos/code-microstudio.htm. You did not tell us anything about your CDRW drive manufacturer. However, most drives will NOT do the CDG format. Test yours with Microstudio. It will also tell you what your drive is, so please post that back in this Thread. If it says NO under the Karaoke column, you will need another CDR drive. MTU does sell CDG certified CDR/CDRW/CDROM drives that will do what you want for all CDG work. ![]() |

Debcrew,
You really need to tell us what brand and model your burner is, Then maybe we could better answer your question. Not all burners are created to back up CD+G's. Jim |

Debcrew56,
Don't purchase the Micsrostudio 2.400n, unless you are willing to buy a new drive. Your drive will not work with Karaoke and the Refund policy is located at: http://www.mtu.com/support/returns.htm The only brands of drives that will correctly work with CD+G are the Plextor brands of drives.

DEBCREW56,
If you downloaded the current Microstudio demo I believe you have version 2.400, even the download and installation was saying 2.315.You can check this by opening the program, click on HELP, then click on ABOUT MICROSTUDIO, and it will tell you the version number. This should put your mind at ease regarding the version number you've been trying to use, although as support indicated, that's not the problem. George ADMIN NOTE: Wrong, we are still shipping 2.315 as the 2.400 manual would not come up! We hope to get 2.400 demo out today. |

MTU bench tests and certifies the drives they sell to work with their Karaoke software. You can buy a Plextor anywhere else, and it should work. Buy it through MTU and it will work. That should speak for itself.

I checked MTU records and see that you purchased our Suite #4 which includes Microstudio 2.400. You should have already received your download email for Microstudio (and 3 more for the other 3 products). If not, post back here and we will get you the links you need.
Here are my questions: 1. Have you run any version of Microstudio and clicked the Detect Drive button to see that your CDR drive shows NO under Karaoke? 2. What CDR drive do you have (The Detect Drive dialog box will show you this)? If you need a CDG certified CDR drive, yes, you will need to buy one. There is nothing we can do about this. We make this very clear on our web site. Without a CDR drive that is capable of reading and writing the CDG format, no software will make it work for all that Microstudio does... including Custom Assembly and Playing as well as Duplicate Disc. To use KHPro 3.100 to make your own songs then assemble them in the Microstudio Custom Assembly tab, you must have a CDG capable CDR drive. If you purchase the drive from MTU, we will work with you to insure you get running. However, there is a rare chance that your computer Windows software is not installed correctly, and we may not be able to get you running. It is rare, but it happens. Thus, I cannot make any guarantees other than we will do our best. We cannot take a CDR drive back once it has been installed. It is used and we cannot resell it. You can see our drives at our on-line store. |
