Hi All..
I just recently purchased MicroStudio, KHP & Vogone...After I bought the programs, I read the software wasn't compatible with the AMD K6-2 chip...That's what I have currently, but have ordered a new ASUS DDR motherboard, AMD Athlon 1.4G & 512MB of DDR RAM...I'm hoping I will not have any problems with the software working..I tried KHP with my K6 system, I can import the lyrics, but every time I click on "change settings" the program locks up...I'm hoping it's because of the K6 and not my Diamond Viper 550...I also have a Maxi-Gamer 3D Voodoo 2 card, not sure if it's causing problems...Any suggestions? Thanks- |

![]() Are you sure you're using the very latest version of Karaoke Home Producer?
If I were you, I would check which version you are using, and then compare this to the latest version available from the download area. Some earlier versions had bugs in, which were fixed quickly in later released. Bose |

Hi Bose...
I just downloaded the programs this past Friday, October 26th...I noticed another problem with KHP, if I import a CDG song off of an original CD and try to play it, my screen changes to all white and I hear nothing...I have to reboot my system to get out of it...I've tried different resolutions and color combinations, still get the same thing...Shouldn't I be able to see and hear a karaoke track in KHP using my computer? I'm hoping I didn't waste a bunch of money for computer upgrades and still need to buy something else...I going on the assumption that it's my current computer configuration that's the culprit, but now I'm not so sure... |

1. Vogone is the only program that will have problems with the AMD K6. KHP and Microstudio will run fine on the K6. 2. KHP does not crash when you change the settings when it is installed correctly. Make sure you have Version 2.009 (you should since you just downloaded it). If so, there is something wrong with your computer setup. MTUSUPPORT should be answering you tomorrow. 3. You cannot import a Karaoke CDG song into Karaoke Home Producer. It only accepts .wav audio and .txt text/lyrics files. If you want to play a Karaoke CDG song, use the Microstudio Play Tab. |

I reinstalled KHP & it still won't let me change the settings after I import the lyrics. The mouse doesn't freeze, but the program just sits there and won't do anything. I end up having to do a ctrl alt del to end task in order to get out of it...I'm positive the program is installed properly, there's not much to the installation...Is the Diamond Viper 550 with 16MB RAM sufficient to run KHP? Could the Maxi Gamer 3D card be conflicting with KHP? Thanks-

I'd check the game card first. I would hope that the diamond viper card isn't the problem as my new computer is going to have one in it.

Thanks for the suggestion...I planned on pulling that card next & will post my findings after I do so...Hope the game card is the culprit...

I would guess that you don't have the latest version of DirectX installed, you can find out how to check this at: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=322
The only other thing I don't know about is that extra game card that you have in the computer, I would try pulling it and see what happens. The last thing I can think of is that I would make sure you go to your Video Card Manufacturers website and download there very latest drivers for the system. This can usually fix quite a few problems.

Thanks for the reply...I haven't been home the past few nights until late, so I haven't been able to pull the game card..I do have DirectX 8.0 installed, but it's been a while since I updated the driver files for the Viper 550...I'll do that as well and see what happens...

Getting frustrated...
OK...Here's what I've done so far, and still having the same problems as before...I removed the Maxi Gamer 3D card, I downloaded and installed the latest bios and drivers for my Viper 550 card. I also have DirectX 8.0 installed...Let me tell you what I'm doing and see if there is something I'm missing...The first thing I do is import lyrics, they appear with a white backround and black text, I click on "Change Settings", after that, it just sits there and does nothing, my mouse moves, but the program does not respond...I've even tried "Add Music", then import lyrics, then play my song...Nothing....I changed my video settings from 32 bit color to 16 bit, still no go...I don't know what else to try, but upgrading my motherboard, chip, RAM etc most likely isn't going to help...I only bought the new stuff (which is coming tomorrow) to be able to use Vogone and the rest of the software I purchased...Looks like I'll have a faster system, but won't be able to use the programs that I bought...My current config is:
AMD K6-2/500mhz, 320MB RAM, Viper 550 with 16MB RAM, Sound Blaster 16...As soon as the new stuff gets here, I'll be running with a AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4ghz, 512MB DDR RAM & a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Please help! ![]() |

you have to get out of your Amd to run Vogone or get an athlon system. Intel would be the safest bet as that is what MTU created the code for.

Problem solved
Latest update...
![]() Being the "computer geek" that I am, I have lots of spare parts laying around....I removed my Viper 550 (AGP) and put in an old Matrox Millenium II 64bit PCI card...It worked like a charm...In my case, it was the Viper 550...Any known problems with KHP & the Viper? Thanks for all the replies... Diane |

Problem solved...sort of... :)
Hopefully, this will be the last post in regards to my problem..After swapping out video cards, I was able to change the settings, & begin to place the lyrics to my first song...I made it thru the entire song, hit "play my song" the audio played fine, but the words began to slowly draw on the screen, not even close to keeping up with the audio..I attribute this to insufficient RAM on this older Millenium card...I've read that MTU suggests using an ATI video card...Please tell me which one works best with KHP & Vogone...Also, how much onboard RAM should I get?
Thanks so much.... |

All of the ATI cards work without a hitch, as long as you update there drivers from www.ati.com once you have installed the board. The ones that we use are the ATI Expert 2000, but you can go with a higher quality card or cheaper card if you want.
You must have one that has at least 8mb of Video Memory on the card, this is the most important thing. I would recommend using 16mb or greater.

Are you still having this same problem, or has it been solved?
