Transfer MP3+G files in several folders to one to import as KMA files

If you have .mp3 and .cdg (MP3+G) files in one or multiple folders (such as a folder for every DiscID or Brand), to make it easier to import as KMA files into Hoster, you can search/find them and move them to another folder or drive if you have that many to import.

Hoster 3.318 and higher allow BATCH importing files from multiple folders using "recursive" technology to crawl down into sub-folders below the selected top folder. In the Import Hard Drive Files screen, click the "Include subfolders" checkbox and you're ready to go.

For older Hoster versions, follow these steps to move your files.

1: With Hoster running, click the Help menu, Read Manual command. Read the section on Importing Hard Drive Files

2: Click the Start Menu > Go to Search > select "For All Files"

3: Type in *.mp3 and click Search for the external drive with the mp3g files

4: Highlight the first result, then press your Shift key (hold it) and the End key at the same time. All files should highlight. Let the End Key up first.

5: In the left column in Windows Explorer, locate the destination drive and/or folder to copy the files into but DO NOT click the folder... just get it visible on the left side. If you need to create a folder, do that then start with Step 2 again.

6: Move your mouse pointer to the right column (all files are highlighted), then click and drag the files to the destination drive/folder on the left column. Release the mouse left button when the indicator is on the destination drive/folder (NOTE: A + will appear near the drive/folder indicating you are COPYING the files, not moving them).

7: Click the Start Menu > Go to Search > select "For All Files"

8: Type in *.cdg and click Search for the external drive with the mp3g files. These are the "associated" files with the .mp3 audio files that display the graphics/lyrics for the songs.

9: do the same as in steps 3, 4 and 5 above, but now copying these .cdg files. NOTE: If you have any .cdg files imported with MTU's Microstudio (these are 30MB - 60MB files), you don't want to copy them over, but the *.cdg will find them.

10: Open Hoster. Click the Import Tracks menu, and then click Import Hard drive files. Select the MP3G button, and locate you newly created drive/folder.

11: Select the Define field order fields to match the filename fields to import. If there are multiple filename field arrangements, you can import all files that match one setup, then change the field order definition and import the files that match that setup, then change again for each filename field arrangement.

12: Click the BATCH button, the click the Add Files button and follow the directions. All files with the same arrangment format you defined will import. This usually takes about 1/3 of a second per file....i.e. 15,000 songs will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes to convert.

After you have converted all the .mp3/.cdg file sets, you can remove these files on the original hard drive. You will now have .kma files in place of them.

NOTE: This operation automatically adds the new KMA files into the Songs Database, ready to use in Hoster.
