Custom Assembly not reading

I have a portable PC (not a laptop) with Microstudio installed. The Drive is a
PX-712A. When working in the Custom Assembly tab I click Add tracks from CD.
A box appears saying "Select a reading drive (CDROM)". I'm lost at this point.
At the bottom of the screen next to Reading Drive "Plextor DVDR PX-712A 1.05
is listed. Discs will play on the play tab and I can duplicate on the import tracks tab. The same message appears when I try to use the "Duplicate disc" tab.
Help is appreciated.

The drive you wish to use must be showing in the READING DRIVE WINDOW. If it is not, then click on the arrow, and select the drive from the drop down menu.

Same goes for the WRITING DRIVE, even if you want the same drive for both reading and writing.

The DETECT DRIVES window tells you which drives are CDG compliant, but does not select them for reading/writing applications.

This has confused others.

I had the same problem myself the other day and could not get Microstudio to read and reading drive was selected and I reselected it too and still would not work. Don't know why it wouldn't work but it was the first time I used after I did an upgrade.

Haven't went back to try again since. Will post more when I can get back to it.

You may have to reinstall Microstudio.

custom assembly not reading

I clicked detect drivesin custom assembly and then clicked the single drive listed. I then clicked OK and when the screen closed Custom assembly worked.
Remember the drive was listed from jump. Thanks!

The best fix to this is to Reselect the Plextor drive at the very bottom in the drop down list. Then close Microstudio, to save it to the registry, then reopen it and it will work.
