Ghost words before new screen appears

I'm having an undesired effect and hopefully somebody knows the solution.

Sometimes as a new screen switches over, I see the first two or three words looking like shadows without the color sweep. Then the line "kicks in" and I see the full line with the color sweep in effect.

So far this is happening on a particular song where the lines go by really fast. I have prepped my lines by putting underscores between all the words so I only have to tap the space bar once for the entire line. Maybe this is the cause of the problem, but it sure saves a lot of hassle in the faster songs.

Here is the reason why...

The reason why this is happening is as follows...

The short answer is that you are not allowing the graphics enough time to repaint themselves after a screen has been sung. Where you see 'ghost' lines, is where you have told Karaoke Home Producer to highlight the lyric, but you haven't given allowed time to let the 'sung' lyrics be removed and the new ones painted.

You can get around this problems as follows...

* Cleverly space the lyrics so that the very last line of every screen is as long as possible. You will notice that the 'sung' lyrics on every page only start to disappear when the last line of the screen starts to highlight. By making the last line as long as possible, you give the software more time to remove the other lines and then add the new lines of the next page.

Here's an example...

Bad Way Of Arranging Words...

TWINKLE TWINKLE
LITTLE STAR
HOW I WONDER WHAT
YOU ARE

Good Way Of Arranging Lyrics...

TWINKLE TWINKLE
LITTLE STAR
HOW I
WONDER WHAT YOU ARE

The second set of lyrics give the software more time to prepare the next screen. Can you follow that? (I can - just!).

Excellent answer bose! Thanks for your experience here.

The CDG format does have a limitation of how fast it can change text or lyrics. There are only so many bytes provided per second.

Additionally, as bose has pointed out, our program has some specific ways of drawing and replacing text lines. Bose has given us an excellent "discovery" to help overcome both problems in a high speed song.
