Question No graphics when played on computer

I am not able to see the graphics when I use the play function of Microstudio for either the original or the newly created CDGs. They burn fine and work fine on my karaoke player. On my computer, the sound is fine but I get only color screen changes with occasional flashes of squares where the words should be.

I am running XPprofessional with 11 MB of video memory. I have DirectX 9.0b (which tests fine) and have tried lowering the graphics hardware acceleration setting which made no difference. Any suggestions?

Don't know for certain, but the first thing I'd look at would be the video card. 11mg video memory seems a bit on the lean side to me.

What kind of CDR drive do you have? Also, if you read the Requirements for Microstudio, you will see that your Video card must support DirectX 9.0 also. This is different than just having it installed on your Operating system. I would recommend upgrading your video card to an ATI Radeon 9200 (NOT SE Model). Then it would work correctly. Click on this link to go to the Requirments for Microstudio and scroll to the very bottom of the page. http://www.mtu.com/basics/karaoke.htm

Cool

Thank you for the replies. I have a compaq computer with an 8X LG CD-RW CED-8080B drive and an Intel(r) 82810F Graphics controller. My computer also has a DVD drive and I have no problem viewing DVDs.

When I run the directX tests including direct draw and direct 3D, the tests show that everying is working correctly without any problems. Is that the way that I would test to see if the video card is supporting directX 9.0? The only thing that I do not seem to be able to do is to view the graphics from the CDG on my computer. Everything else works fine.

Help.

I, don't think your burner supports CDGs. I would suggest you buy a Plextor. MTU sells them and each one is guaranteed to work with Karaoke disks.

I am not familiar with your graphics controller. Perhaps you can contact your computer manufacturer.

Good luck,

Jon

Lg

I have a DVD-Rom LG 8081N on my Dell Inspiron 4100 & it does read cdg's but not with any software from MTU. The reason is that the driver and the method they use will not work.

I believe they will be able too in the future but for now it's not possible. The graphic is not as nice as if I would be using a Plextor but it does read cdg's.

Regards

As Mlepine and Jaddams have stated your drive will not support the CD+G format with our software.

You will need a Plextor brand of drive to make your system work correctly. This is the only way that you will beable to Play the Karaoke back on your system.
