Hi
I've been using K.H.P. now for about one month and have picked up one or two thing's some of you might know about, but there might be someone out there who does not.
Titles. At the beginning of a song, I have noticed that when you are building your lyrics, if you only use the first three lines on your first page, For Title, Singer and Karaoke by. ( each page in your K.H.P.being made up of four lines ), leaving the bottom line blank. And then carry on as normal.

Example,
______________________
MANDY.
Barry Manilow.
Karaoke By T.Wright.

I remember all my life,
Rainin' down as cold as ice,

Then add your lyrics and music to the K.H.P. Then left click, Place Words. until all your first page words have been highlighted, then press your Ctrl. ( pause sweep ) then left click START, The first page will stay on screen throughout the musical introduction, until you then press the space bar just before the lyrics are about to start. it will then go to the next page and the first word in your song will be highlighted ready to start colouring your karaoke lyrics. On playback the title singer and karaoke by, all stay white and the lyrics work as usual. Looking a lot more professional.

And the same at the end of the song, I also place, Title,Singer and Karaoke by, but do not press the space bar, so these do not change colour as the lyrics do, I just left click the end button when the music has stopped.
This means they stay white also.If the lyrics end the same time as the song, I just add a three second silence at the end of the song when editing the sound track.
Another thing I have found is that when there's a break in the lyrics for an instrumental, instead of putting
in the word, INSTRUMENTAL I just add a continues line and treat it as just another word.

Example,
________________________
Yesterday's a dream
I face the morning,

This means that the line will slowly change colour while the instrumental part takes place, then cary on placing the lyrics as normal, and the singer can see exactly where he or she is, and when they have to start singing again.
You can also add the word INSTRUMENTAL in between the line leaving no spaces.

________INSTRUMENTAL_______ This will do the same job.

I hope this helps, please let me know if it does, I'm having great fun.

Excellent suggestions!

I changed the Thread name to reflect what you have suggested. It should get good readership.

Talking Word handling

Here is a feature of KHP that I posted several months ago, but some of you may not be aware.

Some times you may want to split the syllables of a word to sweep on syllable at the time. If you need to do this here is the trick

In the .txt file separate each syllable with an asterisk followed by a blank space "* " for example

Guan* ta* na* me* ra, when you sweep this the cursor (red-highlighted word) will only cover one syllable at the time. In the final display you will see no difference in the spacing but the sweeping will still hold.

Enjoy
