CDG record/play

Just downloaded MTU evaluation copy- Recorded 75 sec from commercial "all hits" karaoke disk using MTU drivers-audio was fine video/graphics produced only a background color. and a couple of random block functions jumping around.

Any comments?

Best way to get help...

First, read this FAQ.

Second, this thread may be your best bet.

Third, read this thread if you need to run DXDIAG.

Once we have more info, many of our members can help.

I think your problem is that you have a CD-R drive that is not a Plextor brand and will not support the CD+G format. Here is the thread of Known CD-R drives that will state Yes for Karaoke, when they really won't work: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=1106

The burner is a liteon 811s and it does say it supports CDG-thats why I bought it. If I copy discs in ISO won't that burn the sub-channel data and give me an exact copy?

These drives will state that they will work for CD+G, but they really won't. They will work for using the RAW DAO 96 format, which will allow it to copy the entire disc, but not extract any tracks off the discs one by one or allow you to use the drive for Playing a CD+G back from the drive.

There is no way to fix this. The only drives that will work are the Plextor drives.
