Micromedia Error Message

I have just installed Micromedia and an usb drive purchase from MTU. I am trying to run the Duplication process through this program. It copies the original disk to my hard drive and ask me to insert a blank CD (which i purchase from MTU). It copies the file form my hard drive to the blank cd and when it says it is finished i receive an error message which says. Error: 'Finish DAO Recording' Command failed on drive 2:0:0 Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 20h 00h) and it then gives me a message that the duplication process failed. I have destroyed 5 cd's without success. Can you help correct this problem. I am running Windows XP Pro.

I am sorry, I am not familiar with any program called "Micromedia," Perhaps you meant to write "Macromedia,"

What for are you using this program?

Thanks

Jon

boottw,

Try this:

On MicroStudio click on Drivers tab located on the top menu. Then

Choose Speed Selection

On the speed selection pop-up screen uncheck the boxes, reading drive and writing drive if they are checked.

Arrow down on each box and choose a higher speed such as 40X or 48x

Click Okay to exit and try to write again.

Please post back if this helps.

Jon

Please reboot and try again.

Some of the newest Burners do not write very well at lower recording speed.

The message you are receiving points to either a media or burner problem. What I am trying to do, by process of elimination, is trying to determine the likely suspect.

Regards,

Jon

Try another software or media

boottw,

At this point I would suggest that you try another recording software, if you receive the same message, then there is a problem with the drive and it simply cannot record properly on the same media you are now using. You can try using Roxio Easy CD Creator or Nero Burning if you have any of these. If you don’t, you can use PlexTools Professional from Plextor which you can download for free by clicking here.

You can also try using another media brand to see if the problem lies with your current media, (you could have a defective batch, as unlikely as it may seem.)

If you are able to record with different software, then the problem probably is with your current software, in this case, a new version of MicroStudio is being released any day now, if there is a problem with your current version, chances are it will be corrected with the new release.

Good luck,

Jon
