oh my help needed

The cdg format takes up so much room, I have been backing up my disks, and used up my hard drive. I have a long way to go, and no space to do it in. What is a suggestion for me?

Sherri, why are you backing up your disks?

You don’t have to put one single CDG on you hard drive. If you just want to protect your originals, it would be much better to make duplicates of your CDGs.

MTU’s MicroStudio is an excellent program to do that.

Good luck,

Jon

Lightbulb Drive space

Sherri,

Of course if your trying to import all your cdg into the hard drive you'll run out of space, Songs are about 40 megs each!

It is still possible to import in the HD depending how much cdg you have? I imported all of my 125 cdg in my new HD I purchased & it's much faster than changing cd's.

You'll need at least 120 to 160 Gig drive but be carefull, drive over 137 gigs will not work on all computers, it has to be a recent mother board with Windows XP SP1.

I than use Speedbook to create my library. I'm still using the Micro 2.4 with 8 bit resolution which gives me a better graphic than Hoster & I can also use a monitor/TV fonction.

regards

ADMIN NOTE: The Microstudio 2.400 8-bit graphics is an inferior, less tolerant mode. We replaced it in 2.5xx with code that will work with any display resolution, not just 288x240 (or similar). Most graphic cards today will not work at this old resolution... another reason we replaced the code.

The Player code in Microstudio and Hoster are identical, so there is not a "better" image in Microstudio.

Thanks so much for your help, and yes, I am running my karaoke show from my laptop verses CDs. Where do I find speedbook? I'd like to look that over, I have a book now, but am always interested in checking other things out. Once again, I thank you for your help

Here's the link for SpeedBook:

With your laptop you can always get a USB Hard Drive?
Best way would be to purchase an internal 160G drive & just buy an external HD case. You'll need USB2 or firewire for fast data transfer.

Why not buy Hoster instead? you can store over 8500 songs on a 40G Hard Drive.

Just a thought. You can read more about Hoster by clicking here

Jon
