upgrade/book id #

I have a couple of questions... we have the laptop as well as the shuttle..we downloaded the 2.014 upgrade to a disc. the laptop has a modem the shuttle does not..we loaded the laptop, it seem to upgrade ok, when I move the disc over to the shuttle to upgrade it tells me its blank. help

we of couse want to keep the id numbers the same on both systems..we mistakedly messed this up on one disc..is there a way to reuse a number(book id) we went to the kma files, deleted the songs on that disc, the songs are gone but the number is still assigned to that disc. help....

would it be possible to copy one hard drive of one system to the other,, if so how ? would we format the target drive or would that be needed..thanks in advance
