CDA files and Keyrite
CDA Files
Did I make a mistake by ordering the fileconverter product? I have CDA files not CDG files. Is there a version or patch for CDA files? |

Wkarp,
CDA Files are what you will see when you look at any Audio or Karaoke CD in your computer. This is how Windows shows it. It will also show that the file size is 1kb, this is because this .cda file is basically the same thing as a Shortcut on your desktop. This shortcut though goes deeper into the disc to tell whatever program you are using to play this disc where the Audio actually is. What you need is another program that can rip the audio off of the CD as a .wav file or a .cdg file. If you are using Karaoke discs then you will need the Microstudio program. If you are just dealing with Audio discs then you could use a program called Winamp, Musicmatch or Windows Media player to do this.

Thank you for the information. I opened the Windows Media Player and looked under help, but it wasn't clear to me how to "rip" the wav file from the audio CD. Can you be more specific? I also have Winamp installed on my computer, if it is easier to do with that program, let me know. Thanks for your responses. Warren

Wkarp,
I was wrong. Windows Media and Winamp won't do it any more. Windows Media will only import the files as .wma compressed files, so our software will not recognize that format. I am unable to find any way to do this in Winamp, even to import them as a compressed format. I know that you can do it in Musicmatch for sure. 1) Download Musicmatch from www.musicmatch.com 2) Install/Open Musicmatch Program. 3) On the Left hand side click on CD->Files. Click on Settings this will bring up a dialog, that states Recorder on the top of the Tab. Where is shows MP3 change this by pulling it down to WAV. Then click OK 4) Now Select the songs you wish to import into the system as a .wav file. And then Click the Start Button.
