I think I remember reading somewhere that in order to use Microstudio on WinXP you have to upgrade to Microstudio 2.4

Yes, Here it is

It originally asked about 2.312, but it states something about aspi drivers and it might be a similar/related problem, admin states in his post that: "To run under XP or 2000 requires Microstudio 2.400. "

Might be your problem. Good luck.

Question XP Pro

Carl,
did your problem started right after you upgraded to XP Pro?

I'm almost sure the problem is driver conflicts...
Have you updated ALL your drivers when you upgrade to XP?

Also, what's running behind Micro? Try to close your antivirus and any other program, make certain Micro is running alone.

I suggest you first try these options & if no changes I suggest you disable both DMA's (HD & CD-Rom). With XP they both enable by default.

I've notice that you install using the NTFS so your running the NT plattform which is more stable than 98 but you might have old software or driver that might not run on NT.

One last thing, did you do your Windows update? Do it first

Good Luck

Carl,
I would suggest you try as Mlepine stated and then also update your drivers for your Nvidia Video card. You can get the latest drivers for your card from: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_44.03

They were last updated on May 14, 2003.

Lightbulb Compatibility

Carl,

you may want to try this:

right click your mouse by pointing the Micro icon on your desktop and select properties, compatibility and than choose Windows 98/Me on compatibility Mode, make certain to check always run...

Good Luck

carl micro, can you update us on your status? Have you solved the problem or are you still not playing correctly?
