DirectX 8.0 vs DirectX 9.0

Is there any advantage to upgrading DirectX 8.0 to 9.0? I have 98SE and ATI Radeon 7500.

The only thing is that Microstudio and all current versions of MTU products require, DirectX 8.1 or higher. So if you are going to upgrade, I would go to Version 9.0.
