Recently, I received Karaoke Home Producer v 1.000 and Microstudio v 2.013. I tried to install KHP and the installation went as I expected (according to the instructions) however, KHP did not place an Icon on my desktop as Microstudio did. I cannot locate KHP using Explorer and therefore, I can only assume that the installation was not successful.

I tried to install the software a second time but the result was the same.

Any idea what is wrong?

Also, I viewed a posting that discussed upgrading to newer versions 1.013 and 1.015. I am not sure what version I was sent. The jewel case jacket says it is version 1.000. Since I am having installation problems, I cannot view it.

Laurie,
Karaoke Home Producer will not place an icon on the desktop for you, however, it should have given you a start button in your menu.

Click "Start"
Then click "Programs"

Karaoke Home Producer should give you a button at the bottom of the list (which can be sorted "by name" if you right click in the menu). If it's not at the bottom, check to see if it's alphabetically listed.

You have to create the shortcut icon on your desktop yourself. Post here again if you need help.
Good luck,
Cid

Installation Problems w/KHP

Cid_cat,

Thanks for your reply. I does not show up under "Programs".
I will try loading it a third time for good measure, but I'm beginning the think I have a bad installation disc.

Thanks,

Laurie

Hi Laurie.

Here is my path for KHP that was made with the installation CD:

"C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Karaoke Home Producer\KHPro.exe"

Hope that helps.

Installation Problems w/Karaoke Home Producer

Thanks Scoob7809,

I checked that path and it doesn't exist. At least now I know what I'm looking for.

Lauri, sorry to have been off-line so long. Thanks Cid-Cat and Scoob for your inputs!

First, if you purchased KHProducer, we have a new V1.015 that you should get. It requires a new Serial Number different from the one you have. Read the Thread in this KHP forum for instructions how to get your new SN. If you can't download KHP over the Internet, you would need another upgrade via CDROM.

If you change where you install KHP, the path to the program will be different than Mike. If the installation when to completion, the program is there.

How to locate a program - Using the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), click the Tools menu, Find command and Files and Folders command. Click the "Look in" field and select "My Computer" to search all your drives. Next in the "Named" field under the "Name and Location" Tab, enter KHPro.exe and click the Find Now button. The computer will then look through all your hard drives to find the .exe program. If it does not find it, you might want to email support@mtu.com for help.
