Can not get demo2.4 to work

I did get an old version to work years ago with my HP9300
have now a new drive nero say it is CD+G in info tools
drive is a lite-on LTR-52246s
can you give me the list of things to do
to get it to work? (again)
(neather drive is reconized)
ASPI may need to be installed
I can do it manualy tell me witch one I
need for this demo version.
and where to put into folders (system32)etc.
The last time i tried micro studio
it was too buggy to do a good job
and would like to try it out, also the price
is better too.

There is no way to make the Liteon Drive work with our software. Nero may say that it will work for CD+G, but this drive will only copy CD+G using the RAW DAO 96 format, which we don't use. This format only copies bit for bit the entire disc. Our software has to have the drive read and Decode the CD+G format, so that we can read it in one track at a time or use our Play command to play the Karaoke from the drive. The only drives that work for this are the Plextor brands of drives.

The old HP 9300 that you have shoudl work, you should already have the correct ASPI driver installed with the Demo of Microstudio 2.400. If not, then install the Adaptec Drivers in Solution #2 on the ASPI Post.

nero folder
Wnaspi32.dll 2.0.1.50 Tuesday, June 25, 2002 5:34:54 PM 128k

The problem
your program does not reconize my CDR drives (none)
The drivers I found on adaptec web installs 4.60
4.7 is for XP and 2000.

My thoughts are your program does not look at more than
two drives in a system
IE drive C and D, E and F?
I have four more than that
MSDOS does not put CDR ahead of HDs

update I took out 4drives AND same problem.
Iwills MB is confusing your program?

Only sees CDR drives

We will recognize any number of CDR drives, but no CDROMs.

We do this because only one CDROM drive will correctly read a CDG disc, and it is doesn't even recognize CDROM drives to keep non-technical users from being confused.

Talking

Please reread my last post I fixed the errors

you have maybe answered the question
anyway. even if I have a drive that works
your program is so stuck on its self
that it won't work anyway.

next: i did look at some more drives (cdr)
and one is very interesting it is a
Yamaha crw-f1ze at 130$
8meg cache and is DIVX overburn compatible.

there were some pioneer drives that claim to be
CD+G drives but again your program will ignore
pioneer drives I assume.

I can give this a few more days and then have to try
your competitors out for there service for cd+g

up date did get WinCDG Pro 2 to work 60sec per track
VCD for 60 seconds LOL
like there are no other free VCD players around

thank you
for typing a few words here at the forum

Well, I am impressed with your competitor by answering my questions in just 14 hours on the week end.

they have a way to rip the CD+G but I have not seen an
answer to encoding back to the disk except to record as
MP3+G there price is 60$ plus there CDG ripper I assume
is extra.... but it works on this system.....
Until you can figure out why your microstudio does
not recognize my CDR drive(s) I am stuck paying more, for,
to take my favorite old CD+G 12disks and put them
on a few disks arranged in a new order.

Awaiting your answer before I pay the 60$

I have tested this with up to 4 Plextor CD-R drives and it has worked perfect. On my computer, I have a 60GB Maxtor Hard drive split into C:\ and D:\ drives. Then I have a 120GB Western Digital Drive that is Drive E:\. My drive F:\ is a Plextor 1610TA and my G:\ drive is a Plextor 4012TA. I then also have drive H:\ and L:\ mapped to Network drives. So this shows the software does work with more than 4 drives for a fact. My operating system is Windows 2000, but this has also been tested under Windows XP Professional.

Adaptec does have drivers for Windows 98SE and ME that are there 4.7.1.2 version. Please update to these drivers from their website. Here is the link to the 98SE and ME drivers (It is the same): http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...aspi_471a2.exe

The Problem with your drives (HP9300 is the only one you have that will) not showing up is that the ASPI drivers aren't working correctly on your system. Please make sure that you made the change to use the Adaptec drivers in Microstudio. If you didn't do this, then there is no way the drives will show. This is the change located at the bottom of Solution #2, but I am going to post it below.

Once the update has been verified. Open Microstudio. Click on the Drives menu at the top. Click on ASPI Drivers. Change this to Use the default driver. Click OK. Close Microstudio, then Reopen Microstudio. The drives should now show.

third time to install driver(s)
Up date
for any one new here with
windows 98SE I found out you
must delete the wnaspi32 and apix
drivers from windows folders BEFORE
installing new ones.

Got the aspichk.exe to verify that
the drivers are APIX.VXD 4.71.2 and
WNASPI32.DLL 4.71.2

Bug... this should be the default setting Doh!!!!!

now I have the drives recognized

I read your post an many others and never once
did I see that or the drives tab. the old driver may
have worked not going to try that now

next I bought a yamaha CRW-F1E today
It is having errors ( only a few on a few frames )
and always on the same place of the screen.
it looks to me like the CDR ( CD-Rom ) is doing
the bit convertion to PC. thats why the yamaha
has errors and the HP 9300 dose not have them

well here we go for a try

It Works !!!!! LOL

HA!HA!HA
There is no way to stop it from playing!
It would be nice if you would access my
* cddb * it is here in windows common files.
after MMJB looks up the track info on the net
then windows CD player also has the tracks
names as well. that would save hours of typing
the track names and band name ETC.
I also got an error after track 9 too LOL.
and also can not get it to read at 1X or slow
it down it reads a 75sec track in 5 seconds
with this drive and that speed it just makes
a mess of the graphics
looks like we have some programing yet
to do. LOL
well I have to say that this 2.400 IS MUCH
BETTER THAN THAT LAST ONE!!!! I tried
two years ago!!! whew !!!

notes:
Yamaha CRW-F1
Test CDs
Information society on tommy boy 9 25691-2 track ten crashed!
Fleetwood Mac Behind the mask WB 9 26111-2
