If the expected date is January 20, isn't it about time that you let us in on the "Secret Features" I promise I won't tell anybody.

No software projected release date is a firm one. Last minute debugging, more testing and a few adjustments here and there makes it impossible to pinpoint an absolute date. In act, if you check the “News Links” at the MTU website it’ll take you to the “MTU Factory News and Schedules” once there, if you “click” the “Karaoke Home Producer 4.00” link, you’ll find out the “Target Release Date’ is the first quarter of 2003

There is a brief description on some new features.

Time passes quickly, and I am sure you will enjoy release 4.000 when it finally hits the market.

In the last days of any software development, we do the final integration of all the code features we have been working on, and... finding the little querks, timing race-conditions, etc. that can only be found in final integration. We've been doing this for 2 weeks now. Much of what we have done will not be visible in 4.0. Version 4.1 will be a massive overhaul that you will not believe what we are coming up with. Thus, a lot of 4.0 development is in preparation for 4.1.

We are making a lot of tweaks to the User Interface to make it... Simply Elegant... the trademark of MTU.

The manual is completely upgraded.

We hope to get a beta test version out today!!!!

If not, know that we are on it day and night... and we are making headway!

I saw an expected date of 1/20/03 (at time of writing changed to 1/31/03) and there was still talk of Unmentionable Features and I sent a message that should have communicated that I'm chomping at the bit. I'm dying to know if duets will be accomodated, if we can insert graphics in the middle of the songs etc.


and I get people telling me how to read dates!!

I know how to read dates and I am indeed looking forward to the new version. I understand a little bit better why MTU might not want to promise some things and then not deliver. Good luck MTU Gurus. (I get just like a kid on December 24th)

Not exactly a reply-but more of a question about the new KHPro version 4.0.

One of the new and very much desired features will be the ability to 'recall' a song from a file and change many of the characteristics w/o having to redo the entire song. That's a great improvement by anybody's standards !

Are the current 3.100 files written so that this new feature will be able to call them up also ?-or will 4.0 be able to call up only files created in 4.0 ?

This will only be able to be done with files saved out of Karaoke Pro 4.0. There is no way to go back into the .cdg file and make changes, this can only be done once Projects are supported.

Duets will be coming in a future version.
