Audio Drops
I have a problem when playing video formats: the audio volume drops down considerably, after playing and I have to re-start Hoster.
This also happened before with Windows 7 in the same pc. I have always had this issue since I use Hoster, with all the pc's I have had, but I was never interested in solving it until now. Desktop custom built: Quad core @3.2 ghz, windows 10 pro, graphics Radeon HD 6800 series with 1 gb, 4 gb ram, and 500 gb HD, Hoster 5.10 Thanks for your help. |

Re: Audio Drops
You say you have always had this problem since using Hoster, are you sure it wasn't after a particular upgrade ?
I ask this as I remember the same thing happening a long time ago but can't find which version caused it. Do you have auto fade set in the audio settings, if so does it still stay lowered if you set this not to fade? How are you connecting your audio out ? If you are not running the audio via the HDMI out make sure the Audio for the HDMI is set to disabled. Just right click the little speaker icon on the taskbar and select playback device in the sound dialog right click the HDMI item and choose disable apply and OK. this will not affect the video part only the audio out. This may not be visible unless you have the HDMI connected.

Re: Audio Drops
I can't remember where the fade setting was in 5.10 version but using the latest Hoster it shows under Tools/Settings/Playlist, in that dialog is a fade in & fade out setting Yours might be a different path but it should be under the playlist settings.
Even though you use the Audio output jack from your computer it is still advisable to disable the audio part from the HDMI playback settings. When you make an HDMI connection the computer normally defaults to activating the audio out through the HDMI I vaguely recollect this contributing to the audio dropping like you referred to in your post. So I recommend you check the Windows playback settings to see if when you connect your HDMI source the HDMI playback shows as Disabled, if it shows any other setting like default communication device or ready then right click it and set to disabled.
