Question about Hoster 507.05

I just installed Hoster 507.05 on my laptop. After the installation I opened Hoster and clicked Help/About Hoster, and it showed Hoster 5.07. I then started my desktop and opened Hoster/Help/About Hoster and found 5.07. What happened to 507.05???

Thanks,
Ernie

Re: Question about Hoster 507.05

5.07 and 5.07.05 are exactly the same programs. the .05 just shows the last time it's bucket.mdb was updated (05 = May). This only contains a number of extra songs in it's supplied database for when you import new songs via the import CD dialog using the "Search Local Database". There are no other changes. When a change is made to the actual program the the .07 will change.

This is printed in the upgrades page:
Version (ex: 507.05) with a .XX that is the release month (.01 in January, .12 in December). Every other month the Import Database has new Brand-DiscID-Track# songs added.

It seems it has not been updated since May. But then I always use the On line Database.

Re: Question about Hoster 507.05

In the import CD dialog there are 2 database search options, one "Search local database" which uses the bucket.mdb that is downloaded to your hard drive when you install Hoster and is pretty accurate in it's entries but does not contain every available disc, the other one is top left of the same dialog named "Search Online Database". This one is a third party database and usually finds the songs and artists but has to be checked for errors before importing and rarely enters the correct Disc ID so you have to enter that yourself. As any disc's I import nowadays are new releases they are never shown in the local database so I find if I give it about a week after the disc is released and use the online one It usually returns the correct title and artist info.
If you import your music as mp3+g files you would not need any of this info as Hoster gets it's Artist and Title info from the file itself.
