Unhappy Re error mesage

Hi to all,
I have upgraded from Hoster 3.321A, to Hoster 4.02. When i go to import a disc in thr Hoster 4.02, i get an Erroe message saying, C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases\Bucket.mdb not valid password 3031.
Then another message card comes up saying for help, but when i select OK it then saying jeterr40chm cannot be found.
I only upgraded yesterday 11/8/08
Please Help.
Thankyou

Hey Patricia,
It sounds like Hoster is finding some old database files in the C:\Program Files\Micro Technologies Unlimited\Hoster\Databases folder.

1. Close Hoster 4.02

2. Delete the C:\Program Files\Micro Technologies Unlimited\Hoster\Databases folder

3. Open Hoster 4.02

This should get you going. If you still have problems, do a windows search for Hoster and delete any folders named Hoster you find then try again.

I think you guy's have done it !

I had the same error with "3031" and "jeterr40.chm" (win xp), done what "madjim" said to do (delete old database's), and latest version of H4x seems to be stable and looking good so far !

I have 2 shows this weekend, and i'm lookin' forward to tryin' H4 Live.

Love the instabuttons

Well done people.

Do yourself a favor and find the 3.4 version in the Program Files\....Hoster folder (Hoster34.exe) and create a desktop shortcut to it. That way if it does act up you can quickly switch.

The "jeterr40.chm" error that you are getting is a Microsoft error. This help file was dropped in XP and so will not open. It is not a Hoster generated help file and they have no way of changing this.

H3.4 as backup

Thanks ddouglas for the tip,

I have done what you said and created an icon on desktop, but H4.02 looks so stable now, i'm not expecting any issue's, I will update the forum after the weekend to let users know how H4x performed.

Thanks

Hey Bub,
The most you should have to do is restart 4.02 if things get out of sync and the restart button doesn't get it back in sync. Restart is only needed once if at all. My last few shows have gove without a hitch.

Enjoy!

You didn't happen to delete the Bucket.mdb file from C:\MTU\Hoster did you? If so re-install Hoster. That database file is the file that Hoster uses to fill in the data when you import CDs.

Patricia, first look in C:\MTU\Hoster and see if there is a file called Bucket.mdb.
If it is there then look in C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases. If the file is there too you must delete it. The two files are conflicting. Don't be scared to delete any of the Hoster file as it can always be recovered or reinstalled if you make a mistake. We wouldn't tell you to delete something that you need.

Re Problem Bucket,

Hi Dale, I have checked and there was a bucket mdb in C:\MYU\Hoster, so then i checked C:\Program files\micro technologyunlimited\hoster\databases, there was a bucket mdb file in there so i deleted it, but still have a bland disc brand dropdown panel,

Ok. Follow the steps listed below exactly.
1. Uninstall Hoster
2. Delete C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster folder
3. Delete C:\MTU\Hoster folder
4. Re-install Hoster 3.321 (based on if you bought Upgrade license).
5. Upgrade to Hoster 4.02

By deleting all the files left then Hoster will be a completely new clean install with all the right files in the right location. Since you have an upgrade license you have to install the previous version before you can upgrade to 4.

We support each other. Most of the people who answer the questions in the forums are just Hoster users like yourself who have worked with the program and have enough knowledge of computers to be able to help others. None of us are employees of MTU, but because we believe in MTU and Hoster we don't want anyone else to have a bad experience with it.
And you are welcome. Glad we got that fixed.

Atta boy Dale

Dale,
Way to go .....that keeps the Admin rolling on 4.03.

Update for you on 4.01 (which has been working solid all week). Only ran into 1 minor glitch last night while playing many test songs during Olympics. Fixed it though (I think from other thread on resolution).

Overview:
Running 4.01 with singer screen set at 1280 X 1024 @ 32bit depth:
Put ~ 20 random songs in Autoplay....started them off, sat and watched Oly's. Came back and hour glass was spinning after a song. Stopped Hoster with Task Mgr.

Re-start 4.01 using singer screen 1280 x 1024 @16bit depth:
Put 75 random songs in Autoplay....started them off, went to bed.
Got up....all songs (I assume) played to finish and Hoster was ready for more with no snags whatsoever.

I don't know if this is useful feedback (think it may have already been reported) ....anyway, seems to be running finer than frog hair.
