Kelly.
If you are unsure of using 4.02, go back to 4.01 or 4.00. 3.40 is a solid backup in these versions. I just tested this.

All of this will be fised in 4.03, hang tough.

3.4 is exactly the same in 4., 4.01 & 4.02 not to mention exactly the same as 3.321 so it's got to be more than just a problem with 3.4. It's got to be another file that is common to 4.02 and 3.4 that doing this.

Hopefully 4.03 will fix this.

Sam

Hey Sam,
3.40 (with 4.02) works fime by itself, it just won't read a playluist made by 4.02. It will read playlists made by 4.00, 4.01, 3.40 and other previous veraions of Hoster so like you said, it's something between 4.02 and 3.40 NOT that it's a bad copy of 3.40 included with 4.02. This will be fixed in 4.03.

Thanks

Jim

Mine has always work to go between the two players. If it didn't I would have caught heck from the wife. Apparently this was not effecting everyone. But is has been fixed according to Admin for the next release.

4.02 and 3.4 will work together. It's just the playlist you created using 4.02, it will not find the song created in 4.02 if you use it in 3.4. Just re-enter the song on the same playlist when 3.4 is open and the song will work.

The playlist you created in 3.4, 4.0 and 4.02 will work if you use it in 4.02 but the playlist you create in 4.02 will not work on some ofthe songs specially if use kma's.

Sorry, but in MY situation that doesn't work that way. 3.40 will not work in ANY form or fashion if I have 4.02 on my system. I don't think it is a problem with 3.40; but rather a problem in 4.02. And that's with either one of my laptops.

That's why I have reverted to 4.01 for time being. 4.01 doesn't work very well either BUT 3.40 is solid as long as 4.01 is on the system.

I'm not worried. MTU along with others will "get'r done"!

Hey Kelly,
My version of 3.40/4.02 would run an old songlist or one that was created in 3.40.

Did you ever get your songs to show up in 3.40? If not, you have a database issue. If you install 4.03 when it comes out and 3.40 still does not see your songs, you will have to delete all old databases that are on your machine.

You are the only person that has reported that 3.40 "doesn't work" for them. 3.40 with the 4.02 install worked for me, just wouldn't play 4.02 playlists and this has been fixed in 4.03.

We'll keep at it till we get you straight.

Jim

This is totally a shot in the dark, but, are you by chance running an indexing program like google desktop on this computer? The reason I ask is that ever since I installed 4.02 I have had problems on the one machine I am running it on.

I'll sleep when I'm dead, I don't want to miss anything. Thanks for the kind words!

At fifty years old I seem to nap more than sleep.

Nothing else running. These computers only used for Hoster.

Did my gig last night. As I reported early, 4.02 would not let me use 3.40. I started the night with 4.01. Worked fairly well. However about every 3rd or 4th song it would want to hang as the counter approached zero. Last time this happened it would sometimes cause the whole computer to lock up and I would have to reboot. last night though I was able to exit out of Hoster and bring it right back up.

I also found out that if I faded the song out properly, and went to the next song it stopped Hoster from hanging. It appears Hoster only hangs if you let the song completely end.

So, the night went fairly well until about the last hour, then the music was getting ahead of the lyrics. Resetting Hoster didn't seem to help. Finished the last of the night using 3.40. This I couldn't do of course last week with 4.02. That night I switched to my backup laptop which still had 4.01. It didn't work much better but finished that night with 3.40.

The only thing that I changed in my system from last week to this week that possibly can account for 4.01 doing better is I changed my resolution to 1024x768 with 16 bit color. As I had also reported earlier, I have always in the past used 800x600 with 32 bit. The new Hoster does not let me use that setting and be able to see the whole screen. I of course switched to the 1024x768 but had last week left the 32 bit color setting on. Switching it last night to 16 helped.

Kelly - who is 52 and doesn't want to waste what time I have left with naps either!
