Re: hoster program is closing

I have not been having problems with the program closing since my last posts. Last night my program closed 7 or 8 times; the only thing I did different was use a RGB cable from my computer to the tv monitor rather than a composite (RCA) cable. I have no idea if this would cause the problem, but it is the only change I have made since the last time I had the problem with the program closing.

Check your fade in and out again, sometimes resets itself back to zero after a crash.
How have you connected an RGB cable ? or do you mean an HDMI ?

Re: hoster program is closing

I am also having an issue with this. It always happens after the song so it isn't really causing problems, I run an HP windows 7 500g hard drive, my songs on an external and a 7850 operating speed. It would be nice to get this fixed.... I do however love this program!

Roy
I'm sorry I was using a VGA, not a RGB Cable. The setting were still the same as I had them, I use a 1.5 fade in and a 0.5 fade out.
When I use a composite cable for my monitor, I am using a Sewell Video converter, it also connects to my pc with a VGA cable then goes into the converter, then out of the converter with a composite cable to the monitor.

Re: hoster program is closing

I don't think changing your type of video connection would cause this problem.
Have any of your other programs like spy-ware or something similar automatically updated recently, not the spy-ware updates themselves but updates to the program.
I ask this because I recently had a problem of files suddenly crashing Hoster and found it to be due to this. Just in case you had the same virus checker to me, mine was "Spy-ware Doctor". I can tell you what I did to fix it if yours is the same.

Re: hoster program is closing

My PC has Norton loaded (from the factory) on it but it has not been activated, I don't run a spyware program on my work pc. The only time I go on line with it is to download updates to my Hoster program.

Re: hoster program is closing

So what about when you do all the Windows updates or haven't you done them ?
There is always a chance of a virus.
I think it could be a bit iffy not having any spyware, you can always turn it off when not online.
and there are some free ones available such as AVG.

Now this raises another question did this start after going on line ?

Re: hoster program is closing

Yes I do the updates, never gave that one a thought. Probably should activate a spyware program, just not a big fan of Norton. I believe the last time I was on line with that pc was to update the Hoster song database, which was about 2-3 days before I played last night.

Re: hoster program is closing

Yes, try the AVG free one you can google it. Mtu updates should be safe but you never know how some viruses start.
Then let it do a full scan and see if it finds anything.

Although unlikely it is possible to pick up a virus if you play files from other peoples disks or usb sticks.

I don't know if a system restore to a date before your last update would cure this if it was anything to do with your last update but if it doesn't you can always return back to this existing time.

Re: hoster program is closing

Yea, good thought, I'll try to download a virus program Monday since I have to play twice more this weekend, I don't want to chance it right now. I have access to Norton free thru my cable provider so I'll probably just download it thru them. I'll let you know if it changes/helps the problem.
Appreciate all your time and patience.
