4.01 contains a subfolder with 3.4 in it if you have problems

Excellent news that MTU is working some magic to defeat the 1004 error. I look forward to trying it when it is released.

I also tried out the Belarc Advisory and it showed everything as it should be, but with 1 missing critical update for Outlook. This updated could have come out after I did the SP3 etc. updates. The fun begins when I went to get that 1 Outlook update and Microspft told me SP3 was not installed. Now, it was recently installed and everything, including the Belarc Advisory said it was installed. So... I reinstalled it, followed by 2 rounds of additional patches, until at last Miscrosoft said that all possible patches (including custom) were installed, Again.

I tried Hoster 4.01 and the 1004 error is still there. Tonight I will go to Windows Update and see if it wants to install SP3 a 3rd time

Look in the Hoster folder under Program Files and you will find a file called Hoster34.exe. That is the previous version of Hoster. Create a shortcut for it and put it on your desktop. You are all set.
As far as finding out when they are fixed watch here for the release of version 4.02 which will be a free upgrade. As admin said they are working on trying to get all the bugs out of the program. The 1004 error is an Access error that has only come up with the addition of the Singers database.

Some ripper programs can rip at different bit rates. Hoster can only use those ripped at 44.1 KHz rate.

DirectX 9is what Hoster requires. I believe 10 is only for Vista.

RandyMcCharles, have you installed Hoster 4.02 yet? Some folks report the 1004 error is gone.

As Dale pointed out, this problem is related to our using Microsoft Access Database to access the Song and the Singers databases. One would think as long as Access has been available that accessing 2 DBs would be a simple thing.

Hoster 4.02

Hoster 4.02 works a lot better, and I am no longer getting a 1004 error. I have two other slight problems, that MTU is apparently working on.

1) When you run Hoster 4.02, it wants to convert some of your KMA files from one format to another. While it does this on most of them just fine, it runs into an error on several of them "Error Allocating Windows Memory". I don't know how to identify which files have an error, since it only shows a record number (such as 1940, 3527, 3528, etc.). I am able to skip this step for now, until I can identify which records are "bad".

2) This problem occurred in earlier versions of hoster, but is still present in 4.02. What happens is when rebuilding the songs database, 2 records are receiving the following error.

field Songs.MfgName cannot be a zero length string
Would you like to see help?
Cannot find the jeterr.chm file. do you want to try and find this file yourself?

Again, record numbers are shown, but I don't know what they relate to. I apparently have a couple of records with a missing MFGName field, but I don't know which ones.

==> Other than that, it looks pretty good so far.

The record numbers correspond to the Songs database record number.
In both cases the songs will be left out of Hoster because they had errors.

If you have Access you can open the songs database. Then open the songs table and sort it by record number. Scroll down to find the first record number that had the error. That record will not be there but the preceeding and following number will. Those records should tell you enough for you to figure out what which ones they are.
If you don't have Access post your Songs.mdb here and I or someone can open it and find them.
