Could be something with the Fade-in/Fade-out settings and/or the auto delay time setting. Try adjusting those and see if it goes away.

Jshea - Did you set the Fade times in the Background audio window? There are 2 setting for Fade. One for Background Audio and one for the Playlist (Tools/ Audio Controls).
Billyo - You need to download 4.11 again and re-install. They made a quick fix late yesterday and put it up in place of the one you downloaded. In the About Hoster it will show the version as "4.11." (note extra period at the end) which indicates the changed version.

a little problem with hoster 4.11

just got a call from my friend, i upgraded her laptop from 4.06 to 4.10 and just recently ( sunday) upgraded it to 4.11 the first problem i encountered was if its on auto mode, i get a little distortion at the beginning of the song, and out of sync, doesn't do it on man. mode,( i adjusted the playback offset to -.50 that fixed the out of sync, but not the distortion ) she then imported a few cdg's and rebuilt the database ( add ) they played last night, now she's telling me that when she did a search on a song she's been playing all the time something else came up..she never had problem with the older version, don't know about the 4.10 since i didnt have the time to try it,

My guess would be the database folder setting got changed back to default (C:\MTU\KMA Files) where she probably imported the new ones. She needs to rebuild adding in the correct folder for the rest of them. Then they will show.
As far as the distortion I have not seen any of this.

None of that part was changed or touched in 4.11. The first version was "4.11" and the second version was "4.11." that was put out the next day.

It turns out the First 4.11 had these features broken:

1. Playlist Volume slider didn't work.

2. Tools Menu > Audio Controls Fade In & Fade Out were ignored.

3. Background Audio Fade In & Fade Out were ignored.

The Second 4.11. out the next day fixed these.

You were one of the early downloaders, and we do truly apologize this "biggy" problem got through our testing.

We were all focused on the major Edit Songs changes added to Select Multiple View.

DIRTY LAUNDRY: We also were digging for why we at MTU, but NOT most of our Beta Testers, could hear some audio dropouts within the first few seconds of a Playlist song playing. That is how the 1, 2, 3 above snuck in. We didn't find the root cause for this yet. However, 4.08 didn't have it and no one has complained to us about it in 4.09, a,b,c,d,e or 4.10 so we shipped with it the same as has been in 4.09 on. It's one of those decisions I had to make that I don't like to make... ship with a known imperfection. We shouldn't have done anything in 4.11 except fix the crash bug in 4.10 when Intermission's "Always On" is disabled (unchecked). My bad!

We'll be on this audio problem first thing in Hoster 4.20 when we open it back up. We're upgrading some other products since Hoster has put them on the back burner for most of this year.

I'm Also Experiencing Audio Distortion on 4.11 (and popping noise). Downloaded the latest 4.11 on the site still the same. Where is that 4.11., because the one on the site still show 4.11 Play the Same songs on 3.4 and it play clean (better Sound quality). Did not noticed this audio distorion on 4.10/4.09.

Look in Help/About Hoster and it will show the version as 4.11.
I have not experienced any distortion or the audio drop outs that Admin has, so really don't have an answer to that one.

Billyo the Fade In/Fade Out settings are in Seconds with half second increments 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, etc. The volume level was what is 20% - 100%.

i'm working on my friends laptop, i removed the old 4.11 and re-installed the new one, the problem she was having with the old 4.11 was she imported a few songs, ext. hhd destination, and rebuilt the songdata base using the add button, the songs she used to play that was in her ext. hhd comes up a diff. a title ,and other songs are also missing , i checked the ext. hhd. the files are in there, the imported songs are also there, but when using the rebuilt button, the songs she was looking for, the missing files, will show up the imported songs are in the hhd, but wont show up ( imported songs )when she do a search , she never had this problem before using the old 4.06 version ,other than that everything is working fine, no audio dropped out , no out of sync...

First thing is if you import songs with Hoster you do not have to do either Rebuild or Add to get them in the database. They are already added in during the import.
Are you sure the right buttons are on in the search and the Duet and Mux off?
My guess is she had some duplicate BookIDs and by using the Add this changed one of the duplicates to a new BookID. Which would be why the titles seem to be changed.
I don't know of anyway to get them back to what she had once they have been changed. My guess is none of them are missing but just have a different BookID than what they had. If she searches by title for the missing songs I bet you'll find them with a different BookID.

i did searched for the title, and diff. name came up, so i search for the did title and it comes up the same name ( title ), i just removed 4.11 and re-installed 4.06. i get the same result, diff. title, missing files etc. i thought that you had to rebuilt/add your songdata base everytime you import new songs? and also why would the files shows up if using the add, and not when using the rebuilt button?
