Tried to Upgrade Hosterv4.10
I did upgraded HosterV4.06a to v4.10 and installation went through and will reboot the computer. Then i open Hoster and the dreaded crash message appear so i tried some other ways to install it, uninstall, upgrade and nothing is working. So, installed back v4.06a and this time is the registration issue comes up so i cannot continue. i send a ticket to reset my registration already and i hope will be fix next week. The reason why i got stuck with v4.06a is this crashing problem. It always showed that message "encountered an error". Then this registration reset.. My computer is windows updated and like i said Hoster v4.06a is working before the upgrade. This is my comp info...

To make it clear : I rebuilt this computer for the sole purpose of using Hoster.
I use this Hoster v4.06a just for editing, importing and testing songs and when everything is done right, I updated my show computer. So, before the crash, I'm using HOSTER VERSION 4.06A and stuck with this version 'cause i cannot upgrade to v4.09 or 4.09d cause of crashing. Take Note: Version 4.06a is fine except that i cannot install it now no more because of registration issue which MTU can handle. (My show computer is using HOSTER VER 4.09d and so far so good.) Now that version 4.10 is here, I upgraded with fear that i might have a problem and that fear happens. There are some programs in this computer which is related to music and videos and i don't have this unique kind of problem. Everytime I do the upgrade, I always end up like this. Like what i said before in my other topic, this upgrade thing is a HIT AND MISS. So, for the meantime, I'm not interested in upgrading to V4.10, I just want to install vers 4.06a or any version that is working. So, pls take care of my registration problem before i move on. Version 4.10 has a lot of promising features that i need but I have to live with this situation right now. ALLOW ME TO INSTALL VER4.06A BEFORE I DO THE NEXT THING. Thanks anyway.. |

Since you have submitted a ticket I am sure they will get it reset next week.
The strange thing is no one else was having crash problems with 4.09. It was very stable, which makes me think something is not right on your computer. Here is a link that may help: http://www.iobit.com/ there is an Advanced System Care free edition that can clean up your computer's registry and other things. This could clear up a lot of problems that may be causing it to crash. Have you done the Custom Updates from Microsoft lately. Auto updating does not get all the updates as it only loads those deemed by Microsoft to be critical security updates. I would do the custom updates first then run the System Care. After you do those things you should be able to upgrade to at least 4.09d if you still have the installer for it. There is a bug or so it seems to be in 4.10 if you are running without the display always on. MTU has been made aware and will work on that next week.

I did all the windows updates auto and custom and install the Advance system care software to clean up this computer and i'll just wait for the registration enable to install Hoster. There's nothing i can do right now. I look at my default registry and it seems to be clean. Also, , question, since my computer is clean, can i install version 4.10 straight or I have to install the older version first before V4.10 ?? I don't wanna do upgrade my show computer (v4.09d) to v4.10 unless this computer is done. So, I might have to take a break and I'll let you know what happen next week......

As long as you have had 4.06 installed on it you should be able to load it without a problem (registration wise) after they reset it. I say should but you may have to install 4.06 first then upgrade. Try it and see after they reset it.

I just found out that related to the problem of registration, I cannot open Microstudio(v4.06) and Songverter(v1.21) now , too. The message says that the "Your serial number does not match your registration information. Please
reinstall Microstudio and try again, Same with Songverter. I thought MTU already fix this problem before and in fact they ask me to use one email address only which I did. |

Update: Re-installed Microstudio and Songverter and it went through, so my only problem now is to reinstall Hoster...

Tried to install Hoster v4.06a first before v4.10 (yesterday and today) but i'm still getting the same message that my "registration code was found disabled".
So, i'm still here hopeless with this problematic program. Any advice... I send another ticket for the same problem and i have no choice but to wait again... |

Yes you will have to wait until they reset it. What that message means is you have installed Hoster as many times as they allow without a reset.
As far as the problem with the other message about being the wrong registration they did fix it but pert of the fix is you have to run regedit to delete some information. I'll have to research exactly what needs to be deleted to stop this from happening again.

I only install Hoster when they reply to my ticket that I can install it. Just following what is instructed. and also, follow your instruction to get all the updates (auto/custom) and run advanced system care. My computer seems to be ready for the install. It's just that on the portion where you send my info to mTU, The message showed up that the install will not proceed. Please advised also that my Show computer (v4.09d) is also waiting to be upgraded to V4.10 but i'll hold it for awhile. I'll settle this one first..

Hoster crashing
Dale, I, too, have encountered this problem. I upgraded to 4.10, it runs a few minuted then, error encountered a problem and shut down. I removed Hoster completely, re-installed and same problem. I thought i had all updates installed, will check it out, will run the program you suggested. First Hoster problem i have ever encountered since days of 2. that wasn't caused by me. The answer here will probably lie with me also. Will let you know.

(After you have removed/installed the software every 100 times it disables it. You then have to contact us to allow us to re-enable it. Yours just hit 200 installs. Why have you had to have this many installs, as this is a limit that no other customer has hit, unless it was a beta tester?)
This is what MTU support reply to me, But i already send a follow up. Unluckily, I'm still waiting for a solutions to my problem. It says that i hit 200 install wherein if i recalled, upgrading, uninstall, installed or other ways to make it work is probably 5 or 6 times. I have no idea about what happen to 200 hits.This computer like I said is only for Hoster, Microstudio, and Songverter editing and testing. So, I need some recommendations of what I should do next. |

Are you sure they didn't reset it at the same time? Have you tried to install since getting that?

They didn't say if it's ok to install but I follow your advice to try. I installed v4.06a and it went smoothly even on the registration portion. I opened Hoster and play, tested it for a few minutes and i decided to upgrade to v4.10. It went through and ask me to reboot the computer which i did. Wait for a few seconds and open Hoster and the Crash message (Hoster Application has encountered a problem and needs to close) showed up and closed. So, this is where i can go now. Should I go back to v4.06a and wait..I hope if I do this, i won't have the registration problem again.. But anyway, I need your advice on this one before i do it..Thanks for your help....

Did you have the Show Display set for "Always On" or off? If it is off chack it to be on. There is a bug in 4.10 concerning this. And no it wasn't in 4.09d.
My technical expertise says you have a problem in your computer that something in the newer updates has triggered. I say this because all the versions from 4.06 on have benn very stable and not caused crashes except on your computer. This may be something you need to let Support help you with. He has the capability of connecting to your computer and checking to see what is wrong with it. Are you getting the Windows error message that Hoster has to close or something else?

to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience " This are the exact message, and if this is the case , how do i contact support for this. Or maybe, uninstall/install V4.06a again .. I rather not experiment and explore how to fix it 'cause my registration code might be disabled again. And it's a big issue for me if it happen again. Take not that v4.06a is okay upgrading it has to v4.10 carsh. I haven't tried to upgrade to v4.09, 4.09d. What do you think... |

You would have to hit another 100 mark before it gets disabled again.
The message you are getting is being generated by Windows. Does this happen immediately or waits a while before it triggers? You contact support by explaining your problem in a support ticket. Be sure to tell them that you have done all the custom updates from Microsoft and have run the System Care. I will say that your RAM is borderline minimum for 4.10 but this would not cause a crash just extreme slowness.
