I don't think the SAV issue is on the specs for this one. I don't know about anyone else but my singers have gotten used to the SAV garbled splash page and nobody says anything about it any more. Mainly they comment on all the new features that have been added and they are positive comments.
As for the dual display of videos I think that is history for now. This is a very complicated function and getting it to display in 2 locations in sync is difficult at best. The feeling I get is MTU is trying to get all the new features that were requested and approved into Hoster first along with fixing any major bugs that pop up. Then work on the minor items.

Do you have Microstudio? You could import them in to there (BIN format) and then use the Import from Hard Drive in Hoster to get them into Hoster. Adds a bit more work, but if you are really wanting to get them done before the release then that would be the way to go. You would not have to keep the BIN files after importing into Hoster since you have the CDG disks.

Not on my show machine, nope. It's on the PC in my studio. I would have to download all songs, write the file, copy the files, transfer the files to my 3 externals, rewrite them, keep them, redirect to that file if i wanted to play a song from that file.. Much harder and time consuming said then done. ummm...nope not gonna happen.

You can install Microstudio on 2 computers just like Hoster. So you can install it on your show machine and do everything from there.
Or you import them with Microstudio which creates BIN files on one of your externals. Take that external and attach it to your show machine, Import the files into Hoster which will create the KMA files. Delete the BIN files from the external, Then copy the KMA files to the other two externals. You are trying to make this harder than it really is George.
Or you wait until mid-September.

I'd just as soon not...i want to keep everything else off my show machine and externals. I don't know how to do all that stuff anyway. It'd take this old guy from now to new years to figure all that stuff out... anyway. I will be down south in a couple weeks, maybe mtu will do that for me...i know, i know..good luck...lol

George,
I want to assure you that what Dale has proposed here as a work around, will be a simple fix for what you wish to do ( And that comes from me, who is also leary about adding anything else to my show machine, due to the lack of dedicated video memory on the video card ). and save you about 2 months of further waiting for the update to be released! You have already become efficient with the other MTU software, KH Pro, Microstudio... that you have used to compile your custom CDG's, so I would think you wouldn't have any problems going thru the process that Dale has suggested... I think most of the time consuming steps, that you previously mentioned, will be not that time consuming at all...( Plus you're going to have to do most of those steps, if you wait for the next upgrade, or if you try what Dale suggests now) You and I have spent more time writing on this thread, that what time it will take to try Dale's fix, and I know if it's the inability to overcome the anxiety of changing/adding something to your show machine, that by setting a restore point, and having the backup of your files on your external hardrives, that you can go back to where you are now... Plus you have all of us forum reader's that will help you along the way... None better that Dale when it comes to helping... and if you are wanting MTU to set up your computer like the Geeek Squad... then you are going to be taking time away from their further development of the new features that the other KJ's would like to see them working on... So you see, we have an ulterior motive to help you from this forum... and also because of your patience and tenacity, your further posts will be fruitful and educational to many new users of the MTU software, and also some of the ol' timers as well.

Rikki thank You for your wonderful imput, i'll just go back to my ole stand by JVC. I'm not even sure what you and dale are talking about. And there are others on here with more urgent issues then george's computer 101. I wouldn't know where to begin to make a restore point. The more i have been pondering this situation, i'm starting to think perhaps this new computer technology and software stuff just may not be for me. So, i have decided to just go back to disc, sell the laptop, and erase my hard drives. It's just too frustrating. But thank you all for your help, and wonderful friendship and patients with me. I'm satisfied i gave it a try, time to move on. Thank You, Your friend George

i hope you don't mind me putting in my 10 cents, but since you are going back to using disc, if i were you i wouldn't sell the laptop, you could just try what Rikki & Dale suggested on your spare time..or till the new upgrade is released..doing a system restore is so easy..just click on : start..control panel..performance/maintenance and when a window comes up on the right top you'll see " system restore" and when the system restore window comes up you'll see a box with a green marked " restore my computer to an earlier date" click on next and a calendar will popped up with bold #and just choose a date...i know it's frustrating but you spent so much time and money buying your laptop and some other gears just to go to waste..

George,

Dont give up on me yet!!! We want to get you going, and the challenges that you will overcome, will further the ease in which you use that tool, we call a computer... I don't want to see you drag your JVC and discs around, anymore than I want to do it myself anymore..

I've got to step out... but I'll be back with you later today... let's work on getting you where you can work with this program without any great anxiety issues...

Rick

Music Man, I looked at the picture of your screen and have had that happen to me if I try to do ANYTHING after I start Hoster until EVERYTHING has loaded for the program and my background picture appears on the screens. Is this when it happens to you? Just a thought. And Yes, I am running VISTA.

Ok George,
First, have you experimented with establishing a Restore Point? As Billyo, and others will attest too... it will give you peace of mind, knowing that anything we do after that point in time, can be reversed, and we can get back to ground zero, by going to the restore point, when everything was working correctly... Also how have you been protecting your downloaded music ( KMA's)? Are all kma's being backed up, or copied, so you have at least two copies of all of your kma's protected, and cloned in your external hardrives? After you do these two things, both of us will have that peace of mind!

Have you used private messaging before? ( Click on the PRIVATE MESSAGES line, just under your login information, up in the right hand corner of the Forum section ) I've sent you a short message, so we can converse one on one, or as I would prefer, let's keep it out here in public, where there are all kinds of helpers, more experienced than I, that are just chomping at the bit, to try and help you troubleshoot your problem!

Let me know what time is best for you to sit down for a concentrated effort online, to get you goin' again... I'm on mountain standard time ( Az ), and will adjust to Michigan time so we can coordinate a convenient time for the both of us!

*Please note that a new Hoster Lite download for fixing your "Bug" is awaiting you in reply to your trouble ticket... try downloading the Hoster Lite Upgrade, and see if it indeed works!

Rick
